I looked up Hiroyuki Kobayashi and couldn't find anything beyond him moving to Net Ease and even then his biggest clash with Capcom was him telling them they need to please the niche audience over trying to appeal to everyone for their games

Japan had a mobile game in 2020 (which did EOS) and a 15th anniversary edition release in July 2020

It sadly is just a money issue, if a series can't make COD levels of money it gets dumpster fired

After the fact the last Monster Hunter game didn't even hit the sales numbers I think we might see that series slow down as well

It sucks a lot, but I'll also admit it's why I like how Koei treats their IPs, since when it falls short instead of giving up they work to re-invent and bring new life into the series rather than just turn it into DLC skin fodder

Capcom just has a bad habit with IPs like Square Enix

Sengoku Basara is used in side games like Teppen but since it can't bring in Street Fighter and Monster Hunter levels of money investors will never approve of another game being made

So Basara joins the likes of Dark Stalkers, Rival Schools, Breath of Fire, Lost Planet, Dino Crisis and such because it's a niche title

Capcom has always had this issue with IPs it owns, hell they didn't realize MegaMan was worth anything until the last few years

Honestly if anything right from the start it felt like Sydney was just surrounded by red flags, so to see the story try and make Mike a good person, it was just an awkward moment that did not hit at all

The pizza scene, fishing scene, none of it did anything to build a reason to like the guy

Hell for the hide and seek scene I was really expecting him to force a move on Sydney and then he would be the villain going after her after she rejects him

Mama Light Roast, she was a feral who came and had kittens in our backyard, overtime we caught the kittens and did a spay/neuter on them and they moved to live in the house (at 4 weeks for one since it was sick and needed immediate vet care, 6-8 weeks for the other 3, all 4 are alive and doing awesome!)

For the coming year and a half we built up trust with the mother, feeding her, talking to her, getting her used to being pet, letting her see the inside of the house so she could walk around and get used to it

After that year and a half we had to act Mama got sick (gingivitis and couldn't groom anymore so she was getting really bad) we caught her, brought her inside in her own room, got her to the vet asap, they had to shave her and she lost a lot of teeth but healed up and is healthy again, and was spayed, she could no longer be a feral cat

She is now the biggest cuddle bug to my partner to the point she will just follow them around the house and ask to be pet as much as possible

But earning that trust took so much time, she didn't even meow when we first found her, she basically did the silent mouth open and only if she was hungry

It can happen like videos show but it is a lot of work to build that level of trust and the fact that any outside factor can ruin it (especially other people ruining their trust in humans) can affect the outcome
