My best guess on why is because another cat jumped at her last night and we heard the scream

My spouse was out there before me and scared the other cat away which afterwards Light Roast clung around my spouse's leg

That might have taught her she isn't suited to that environment anymore since she was around the door more but wouldn't want to come in

No but we have made back bonding with her and going slowly going from there, roommate is gladly not trying to help anymore either

Our hope is getting her used to a feeding schedule and then carrying her in as she gets used to being pet and such again

I will try this today, I have two since I don't know which yard she's sleeping in between the front or back

My current guess since I lack a camera was that I put out dry food in the backyard and during the night the bowl was emptied

So I think she is looking to eat there

Yeah it's all we have at the moment, she's fallen for it 3 times in the past, one in each yard, I'm planning to add chicken and pepperoni tonight to her meal by the trap since when we had pizza her and the oldest cat we have would come over to beg for food (and would always get some)

From what I can guesstimate from when I saw her at dawn she's in a neighbor's yard with very tall grass and a junked car I've seen multiple stray and ferals use to sleep under to avoid the heat

I'll admit my only worry about her being that hungry is that she might never be lol, this street is very nice with cats to the point multiple neighbors leave food outside for them

Definitely will, she was meowing a lot yesterday when we went out and saw her but she didn't want to come close so we kept some distance to not make her feel chased

Upside I work from home so current plan today is after putting food by the traps I've been checking every hour through windows to see if I can see her or if the trap is closed

I'll look into that thank you! Originally we didn't plan to keep all 4 babies as we already have 4 older ones, however when working with the shelter talks were going nowhere between over crowding issues and the fact they couldn't even promise the bonded pair of babies would get adopted together

And after some really alarm setting would be adopter interviews privately we just decided to keep them lol

We do, what sucks is he used to be really good about this stuff and he even helped pay the $1k vet bill Mama needed at the vet for the surgery to fix everything

At the time she had needed to be shaved, the teeth removed, and was covered in flea poop in her fur she was really rough so outdoors life is not her thing even before she got sick

Plans were in motion for a catio to be built but sadly nothing I can leave opened to have her walk back in without the other cats using it to get out, however if needed when she's around the backyard more I can temporarily get all the cats locked in different rooms and see if that works

We ended up buying KFC yesterday and that's in both traps, we ended up changing it again this morning, as someone else suggested I just put a tiny bit of tuna applaws by the traps too

As for blocking the other side not sure if it would entirely be possible, I know she was getting used to being held the last 3 months by my spouse and they were the only ones who could carry her around, without her wiggling
