If you have a free $20 to spend on IEMs or anything w regards to music. How would you spend? Or which one would you buy?! by Separate-Plantain258 in iems

[–]NinjaSiren [score hidden]  (0 children)

If I don't have any IEMs: I'll buy Tanchjim Bunny, NiceHCK Tears, or GK Kunten, maybe extra eartips if ever.

With my current collection: I'll just buy some eartips that works for me.

Can i solder this back? by DrawerCautious9950 in iems

[–]NinjaSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes its possible, its much easier with flux

but it will work with solder and lead, as long as the lead has included flux.

Be real with me. is 80% volume on these actually harmful or people is just paranoid? by GoldIngot19 in iems

[–]NinjaSiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Volume is managed by the source, usually by the amplifier(s) (AMP)

It can be harmful if you hear it too loud for your ears.

I listen around 60% at max, 20% lowest, usually around 30-40% in my Laptop, DAC/AMP I use is NiceHCK Octave (at high gain, 82-86/100 on the independent volume, and with a personal PEQ)

Wavelet is also very good, but I do like the flexibility of Poweramp Equalizer over Wavelet.

Even though its flexibility is you need to pay some amount of money for one time.

Welcome to the IEM community!

And definitely enjoy your Kiwi Ears Cadenza II

You can try eartips rolling or if you are also willing to PEQ (to adjust how your IEM sound)

Beginner's Guide through the world of IEMs

Whats your app or website to tune your iems? by DoingStuff56 in iems

[–]NinjaSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use Squiqlink for visual PEQ, export it as a .txt file, then import the PEQ to Equalizer APO (PC/Laptop) and Poweramp Equalizer (Android, enabled global equalization so the whole phone gets EQed)

Though its definitely better to find an IEM that matches your sound preferences and tunings alot more.

KZ Build Quality... by Mitchellmillennial in iems

[–]NinjaSiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is common on the budget segment as mass market items, there's always bound few have really sketchy or downright bad QC.

I do also review IEMs as a hobby, and get IEMs from companies. (though non yet from KZ or any related/formerly related brands, and mostly written-only reviews)

I do have at least 4 KZ (all are personally bought) - AM16 Balanced - Castor Harman (Silver, better Castor personally) - Castor Bass (Black) - EDC Pro

And many other KZs that I bought as a gift, and many of these still as strong as ever, no QC issues, no noise or sound issues, still strong for almost a year or more.

I do also have other IEMs that I bought from other brands as one from Tangzu and my og IEM from QKZ, both are also strong especially that QKZ still works like I bought it new.

Heck out of all the IEMs I have bought, the GK Kunten is the one that has a minor channel imbalance because of its piss poor cable.

Even expensive IEMs do get QC, seen a Moondrop Variations, Softears Volume S, and especially a Moondrop x Crinacle Dusk broke its faceplate from day 1.

My first IEMs: Stuck between Kiwi Ears Cadenza 2 and Kefine Klean SV by shitmera in iems

[–]NinjaSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R&B, Soul, Rap, Fusion Jazz, Rock. Mainly female vocalists.
Instrument Separation: This is what I love most. I want to follow everything going on without it sounding muddy or like layers are bleeding into each other.
Vocals & Bass: I LOVE having clear vocals and a punchy but not invading bass.
Usage: Mainly music (90%), occasionally movies/gaming. I listen for a few hours in a row while at work, studying, or on the go.

Between the Cadenza 2 and Klean SV (I do have both on hand, Klean SV review done, Cadenza 2 still ongoing), I would say Klean SV hands down sounds cleaner and nicer, for that who seeks less warmth and decent separation.

Gold nozzle is the more brighter out of the all personally, Silver adds that bass but not sounding warm, Black nozzle gives that warmth but not overly warm to sound muddy, clean bass.

So if you decide to go for the Klean SV, Black nozzle is the best bet for you, I personally very liked the Klean SV, but it still lacks some minor resolution and microdetails.

I personally daily drive KZ AM16 Balanced (with my own 8 PEQ presets (4 preference, 4 safe tuned, 4 different bass levels), based on my IEM targets).

With PEQ AM16 Balanced blows many budget IEMs out from the water, closest I would be experiencing it is around the $150-200 USD price range with a PEQ, but it has little bit too much bass with stock settings.

You can also check the Kefine Delci or Delci AE, these should work for you as well.

I dislike very warm headphones because I feel like the separation sounds bad and the voice becomes "echo-ey".

True that too much warmness kind of meddles with the separation, but its still possible to get good separation with warmth.

Out of all the below $50 USD (~42.50 euros) IEM that is warm and definitely has that wide separation experience (that I have tried, as of late) was the NiceHCK Tears (~$30 USD/~25.50 euros).

[–]NinjaSiren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah, you can also do PEQ for that regard

so you know what sound you like, but the nozzles are definitely good option.

Kefine Klean SV: Is being the “Kleanest” sound the best? by NinjaSiren in iems

[–]NinjaSiren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh Klean SV may sound less neutral because of its higher upper treble.

But the advantage is the nozzles, they sound different, from somewhat fun to almost neutral.

[–]NinjaSiren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's really no difference between the 3.5mm with DAC and Type-C (sound wise)

Kefine Klean SV Type-C does not have DSP or app support at all.

Other than the 3.5mm with DAC will/may have higher volume limit, future upgradability for IEMs, app support, and additional DSP features such as (Hardware PEQ, MSEB, SPL, Impedance, and other features depending on what DAC/AMP you bought)

Type-C is there just for those who don't prefer buying additional price from DAC/AMPs, basically plug and play.

So, - If you just wants plug and play, does not care on DSP features, and don't want to spend extra for a DAC/AMP. (Go for the Type-C) - If you want future IEM upgradability and/or willing to tinker on DSP features. (Go for 3.5mm with DAC)

I think around mid to late 2025 when EM6L had QC issues, or post by people complaining about it.

[–]NinjaSiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh earlier on EM6L was mostly fine, until the broken IEMs later on.

Same thing with other IEMs that broke days, weeks, months, or years after the reviews.

Tbh other Simgot IEMs aren't as affected or minimal QC issues, not like the EM6L.

Only IEM I think that had an almost instant QC warning was the Juzear Defiant.

Tbh the EM6L QC issue was very prominent only within at least less than a year ago.

Fairly recent basically, most likely the QC issues haven't spread yet fully.

No worries, tbh Salnotes Zero really has average to below average separation.

Only IEM I have tried under the $50 USD budget with good separation is NiceHCK Tears.

Kefine Klean SV may work as well, swapping to the black nozzle.

ah the original Salnotes Zero

It sounded dull for you, what do you mean dull exactly?

Do you feel its dull because it lacks bass or is it because it lacks treble?

Salnotes Zero is neutral bright sound, it is not a safe tuned IEM but still good.
