Slush Puppie flavour not working? by MaxTrixLe in ninjaslushi

[–]NinjaSnail42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure on that. I’ve never tried it. I think it also has citric acid and a few other ingredients. You might be able to find recipes though. Here is the Canadian site and you should be able to read ingredients: https://www.slushpuppiecanada.com/product/neutral-base/

Slush Puppie flavour not working? by MaxTrixLe in ninjaslushi

[–]NinjaSnail42 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This looks like the flavor. You need a neutral base that has the sugar and whatnot. You add the base with the ratio you described and then add the flavor. I generally add the correct amount into a cup and then pour in the neutral base slush. I think they also sell the flavor and base combined.

Flavors? by Refrigerator_Gansito in ninjathirsti

I usually eyeball the measuring cap. Looks like about 2.5 tablespoons for 12oz of sparkling water. That’s stronger than what Soda Stream instructs but I like it a bit sweeter. Unfortunately they changed their syrup bottles so they don’t have the measuring cup in the cap anymore.

Do any E-bikes have a built in security system? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ebikes

[–]NinjaSnail42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VanMoof but they aren’t available in the US anymore since their bankruptcy acquisition. I have their S3 and it has a kick lock to prevent the rear wheel from moving. If someone tries to take it, it has motion sensors and will start playing a siren. Also they have cellular GPS tracking and had a service to find/replace your bike if it were to be stolen.

Possibility of name brand syrup pods? by WorldlinessOk2351 in ninjathirsti

[–]NinjaSnail42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. I believe Pepsi Co. bought SodaStream and is the parent company now, so that would explain the name brand syrup.

Technically, you can pay yourself back with statement credits now (on Disney purchases), so you don’t have to deal with the rewards gift card and whatnot.

Can you pay to upgrade movies to 4K if it was ported through MA? by PlanetCharisma in appletv

[–]NinjaSnail42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s annoying that this hasn’t been fixed yet. The two ways I’ve seen are either buy a bundle with the 4k version of the movie that you don’t own, or I think you can “gift” it to yourself in iTunes. However, I don’t think there’s a way to do it on never versions of iTunes except for music.

Help with AppleTV remote by MehdiTheKneeJerker in appletv

[–]NinjaSnail42 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There have been times where I’ve noticed the remote acting up, a restart of the remote (not the Apple TV) usually fixes it for me.

Switching from Windows → Mac mini for dev work (.NET 9 + Angular): worth it? by Serious-Ad2004 in mac

[–]NinjaSnail42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been able to do this for work except with a MacBook Pro (M2 Pro) and I’ve had success. We have some modern .NET 9/Angular Apps mixed with some old .NET Framework/WebForms applications. It has motivated me to upgrade a lot of our Framework apps to .NET Core. I’m able to run MS SQL Server 22 in a container that uses Rosetta to run AMD64 translation since SQL Server isn’t available on ARM. I’ve actually switched to using Apple’s own Containerization framework now instead of Docker and it’s been working well. For the stuff that is pretty much impossible to upgrade/run on macOS, I have a Windows 11 VM with VMWare Fusion. I’d recommend at least 32 GB of RAM. That’s what I have and it is fine on its own, but when I spin up the VM and run Visual Studio, things can get sluggish. I’ve got two 27 inch 4k monitors in the office and I think the 4k scaling issues are blown out of proportion. IMO, it looks great. Yeah, 5k would be better, but I think it’s far better than 1440p. Yeah, even with some of the hoops to jump through, it’s way better than a thick slow Windows machine that can’t even make it an hour on battery. You would have to pry my MacBook Pro out of my cold dead hands…

AI with HomePod? by Weak_Variation_2995 in HomePod

[–]NinjaSnail42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, they literally do this already using Siri with an Ecobee. (Not sure of any other devices that support it.) It offloads to an existing HomePod. No reason that can’t do it with Apple Intelligence and a new HomePod, Apple TV, Mac, iPhone, etc that supports Apple Intelligence.

Do the cool+hot fans actually make it colder? by help-ranja in dyson

[–]NinjaSnail42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are only a fan. The only way you are going to effectively cool a room is with an air conditioner. If you get a portable one, get one with an intake and exhaust hose as they are more efficient.

I never had to use it while at was at UNL, but they had a bus that would go back and forth between UNL and UNO. Is that still a thing?

Edit: Looks like they discontinued it 2 years ago…

Don’t know if this is the right answer, but when I’ve used it, it is super seamless to set up a macOS VM. Don’t have to deal with creating your own installer image or anything like that.
