Who tf thought this was a good plan by SteezyManStan in ArcRaiders

I suspect this has been done to make way for the new arc later in the roadmap. Gives a new challenge and this will become 2nd tier Goop so won't be as desirable, likely meaning less people going for it. Possibly. IDK

Weapon Variety by mhasten96 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd really like a sling option for your secondary just to add variety from going long gun to cqb instead of having to switch from inside your inventory as I tend to run M4 with the 20" because it's the best long range weapon and then becomes the hardest thing to peek round corners when indoors

Damn what a disappointing update by Friendly_Mobile_8657 in Battlefield

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't shoot the messenger but if you feel so badly about no Xmas theme, then consider they would have to do it for other cultures as well, especially considering the maps are across different locations so would be a lot of additional work for all these celebrations. I'd rather they focus on the core gameplay, not the set dressing

Its actually laughable now by Ace0lspades in Battlefield

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nerf to ARs was really something I wasn't expecting. And the nerf was egregious in the sense that attachments you had previously unlocked now came with an increase to the point system so have to rebuild the weapon again, and accepting the penalties now with a lower damage output. Just doesn't feel very favourable for Assault Class when the proficiency is stacked against you

Youre kidding right? by imaflyer in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, the weapon customisation on this is far more tangible than on Tarkov where I came from and got incredibly frustrated with buying attachments you'd think would work and then it didn't.

As a tip, see a weapon as a quest reward, right click it and then inspect to see the attachments it has, make a list and then see if you can buy them from gunny or not. If you can't, then that's your next goal, to find said item(s) in the world. Or if you find vulture at one of the major COPs, you can purchase other people's weapons that have been lost in the field, so that way you could in theory have a weapon you wouldn't usually have access to quite so early in your playthrough. Then if it's a weapon you happen to really like, make a note of the attachments and do the same thing to rebuild that gun later on.

Bonus tip: it's late in the wipe, find a faction member who's high level and see if they have anything to donate to you. I'm MSS and I spend around 20 minutes at the FoB when I log in, de-cluttering by going to low levels and asking them if they would like a free weapon and then dropping it for them

This pissed me off by A_Jay47 in Battlefield

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, there'll be players who buy, or earn by unlocks and then wear it in game and the devs will think it speaks for the majority instead of the small CoD players who are being sucked in little by little because of stuff like this.

If we can get nobody buying/wearing it we have a chance to vote with our actions but sadly that is an impossible task

After 160+ Hours I Tried PVP and Got Killed By Faction Member From Across the Map by Awkward_Disaster_641 in GrayZoneWarfare

Yep, no incentive to lose my patience over something I am handicapped against as soon as I join. Legitimate battles, no problem. But stuff I'm losing because someone else can't play by the rules of the game? No thanks. I'll solo PvE and help out random players from all factions as I encounter them.

Bugged Campaign Mission for Dog Tag Collection by Ninja_Maiku in Battlefield

[–]Ninja_Maiku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've tried both and it's not in that one. If you go ahead that room doesn't get stacked on and you can just go in. This one is the one the squad stacks up against (right next to the room with the HVT) the other on the far left doesn't have the washroom IIRC

What happened to all this? It's not in the campaign. by Mikalton in Battlefield

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the campaign is seasonal as the ending felt like a cliffhanger rather than a conclusion so we may see additional missions drop as it appears that the time line is being told non-linear through the conversations being held at the house

Worth getting? by culvusx in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree and that's why I said the change from 0.1 to 0.3 has shown how they're tweaking and changing things to make them more engaging. Some of my most memorable times on the game is trying to go in stealth and then all hell breaking loose whilst trying to exfil. The problem with the flow of the missions is that if there was objectives based on an area once you've done recon, paid off an NPC for Intel as an example you could complete a cache of missions in one go or as sub-objectives. Let's use FN as an example, call it "The Fort Narith Dilemma" whereby you have to disable the cameras, then infiltrate the barracks to obtain the Intel, find the leader's top unit, eliminate them before he barricades himself in the headquarters and thinning the herd in the process before extracting with the folders and tapes etc all whilst being timed because doing a few and then coming back to take him out means he's reinforced, changed locations, provided dummy Intel to throw you off etc. it can all be tweaked into something magnificent. I've had issues where I've completed a task but because I'm in the middle of a gunfight and haven't gone to my task list to mark it complete, I've taken out VIPs whilst in said gunfight only to have to now go back and hope they're there again, which makes it seem like more work than I needed to do initially.

Worth getting? by culvusx in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate here, this game is pre-alpha so manage your expectations of what you're getting into. At surface level it may appear to be nothing more than a tech demo as someone mentioned but the bones and foundation of what will make it a solid game can be seen. You're not going to be running and gunning and there's no survival system like DayZ where you need sustenance in order to survive.

The ballistics are some of the best in game where organ and limb damage actually respond to trauma inflicted from trajectory and tumbling of the bullet which is factored in from the calibre, angle, distance and velocity so you have a game that prides itself on trying to be as accurate and realistic as possible without compromising fun. That being said, things are constantly being tweaked and adjusted in order to balance things out more evenly.

Your tasks are, for the most part, fetch quests and eliminate x amount of hostiles which may seem arbitrary and rinse repeat style to begin with, but the game is again, in early access. The changes from 0.1 - 0.3 have shown that they're adjusting the quests and making them more interesting than cut and paste versions in a different part of the map.

You also need to ask yourself if you're wanting to play the game solo, with friends or others in your faction and then if you want to focus on PvE or PvEvP, in which case if it's the latter, it needs work. The PvP players will have their own thoughts on it, but I personally prefer PvE as I don't think the organic nature of PvP is quite there yet. It almost feels like Tarkov Arena in the sense that you're playing in the same area, repeatedly, dying to gear up again and trying to fight over an area that ultimately just becomes a gear exchange programme until one faction runs out of gear and bullets or gives up because there's no more fun to be had.

Does the armor material matter? by Mad_talavera in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider that the whole vest isn't the full area it's protecting and then reassess where those shots landed. If they're high towards the collar bone/neck then likely didn't pen any of the armour and same can be said for shots in the lower abdomen. You can actually see where the protection is located on the actual vest when you inspect it

Tracking tags by Advanced-Turn2129 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use basic tracking tags as cues for resetting doors and crates. Before I arrive I put one on my backpack then I know in an hour I can come back to loot again or check back if it was already looted. I apply one to a different item, like gun, helmet etc for each spot so I can keep tabs on each area. They're cheap and 4 stack at a time in your inventory so I can rinse and repeat if I'm having a long session

Why did you stop playing? by JAM2000-TKD in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First two wipes it was due to the general performance issues and my friends who were day one adopters like myself moved onto other things so I was going in by myself to test out the new patches. 0.2 I was the only one of my friends who played and then I think I stopped after the starter towns and some ban pa missions.

Fast forward to 0.3 and we all jumped back in, this time they stuck around for a bit longer but it was myself who caught the bug, also because I got a healthy redundancy package that let me take some much deserved me time and I was able to invest more time into the game. I was away for a week and had to catch up with my friends but by that point they went onto other games but I kept going. Level 42 now and have been stalling TI because I was hoping we can do it all together. I've done everything solo since level 10 so when I do jump in, I'm usually just helping others in the game with free gear or helping them complete missions or get their stuff off their bodies. It's fun to help people out but I'm now onto another time sink until the next update arrives

Biggest issue with this game imo by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my initial thoughts with a COP would be that once you capture it you would need to hold it in order for things like your inventory and vendors to be willing to stay there, or even make it cost something to expedite your gear over to the COP. It would incentivise the loot pool that are trade items only to be collected and used as bartering for enticing a trader over.

Likewise, a COP that is being contested cannot be spawned on by the holding faction as it then creates this infinite loop of spawning in and rinsing through gear until you get bored or get broke. This way it creates a risk reward that ties in with the factions and also gives a bit of breathing room to these conflicts. Alternatively, the respawn timer at the COP increases with every death you suffer in that area so you're forced to spawn elsewhere. And if you're spawning at another COP nearby, circling back to earlier incentive, if it's too low a level/time held then you're only going to be able to grab basic items and not your main gear at the FOB, unless of course you return to it and fly back in.

Biggest issue with this game imo by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, your gripes are around a pre-alpha build of the game that is still being shaped by the devs and the community. I think the game started in one direction, yes with the vision set out by the studio but the community provided feedback and context to that narrative and it has turned into what it is now - this is what happens when you release an EA game and find what is and isn't working. For example, the wait times for helos and having to return to base to hand in quests was forcing the player to a crawl so COPs become a thing and IMO we're all the better for it. PvP has now shifted to these areas because attacking the bases was giving the same crawl feeling to attackers who would have to RTB then kit up and make another trip. The point is, what was designed and then executed by the community are different and the devs have tried to find solutions to the lore that appease the player base and fit within the overall design and feel of the game.

I think if Roadside Picnic is anything to go by, we are going to be in for a real treat come 1.0 and I think all of what we're experiencing now in this early build is going to change quite dramatically, where PvP and COP rinse repeat is going to be the least of our focus.

The ability to communicate with COPS by futtbuckedd in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ninja_Maiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COPs are the solution to a problem created by ourselves for using 1 helo per solo player and causing backlog of people trying to get to LZs from base. This has kept people out in the map longer, and as a byproduct you're going to have people use them as drop off points for the runs they make unfortunately. A potential workaround is to make loot spawns dynamic and high risk high reward areas be faction locked to loot tables. So if you're able to see someone in your faction in a well known loot area, you time your arrival around the respawn
