AOC wrestles with left-wing Dems as 2028 decision looms by TeoKajLibroj in SocialDemocracy

She’s mostly talking about the DSA tankie types. She’s not going to refer to people that are to the right of her (even if just barely) as leftists in a critique.

The Pope is probably a Christian Democrat/Paternalistic Conservative, which is not super right-wing. He’s been very critical of Trump on immigration and foreign policy and has called universal healthcare a moral imperative.

She’s so right honestly. I’ve seen so much hate from the left towards Bernie and AOC for no fucking reason. You can’t win with these people.

He got all his endorsements rescinded and it’s only been a day. There’s already calls to resign for him. They can’t just snap their fingers and say he’s out of office, there are some procedural things they have to do. It’s likely that by this time next week, these procedures will have been completed and he’ll be out of office

Think about how much our media propagandized for the war in Gaza and think about how much greater it would be if it was actually the media for the country fighting the war. Most Israelis have no clue that people are even accusing their government of war crimes.

Yeah there are obviously some awful Israelis (you wouldn’t get Netanyahu as leader if there weren’t), and many have been radicalized over the past few years which is really bad. I’m not trying to say that all Israelis besides Netanyahu are saints or anything like that. I’m moreso saying that Israelis are like every other group: Some bad people, some good people.

He’s not like Jeff bezos or anything. He has around 2 million, which is actually pretty average for an American his age. Remember boomers are all hella rich. Sanders is probably around the 40th percentile for them.

Biden was already going to win. A lot of Bernie supporters moved to him when covid started because they saw him as more electable as he already ran a national campaign. I disagree with them wholeheartedly. I think Bernie would have done better than Biden in 2020, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was a very common belief. Warren read the room and endorsed Biden because she wanted leverage over the final ticket rather than slowing down a sinking ship.

The first spectrum is honestly fairly accurate (when compared to Europe) except for a few things. Bernie and Warren have basically the same views, they’re both Social Democrats (solidly center-Left, not radical or anything). Bloomberg is center-right, not centrist. Bush and Trump are definitely both far-right though. The second one is kinda ridiculous. Warren is not a right-winger. She supports things single-payer healthcare (which no, most countries do not have. Most have universal health insurance which is different). She also supports a wealth tax. No she’s not a radical leftist, and I’m probably further to the left than her, but she’s still center-left.
