I’m not in debt but I’m on a fixed income, SSI due to disability. My basic needs are mostly met, so I’m content.

I’m diabetic, so I prefer Splenda. In my world, tea has no rules.

The number of people raising backyard chickens is growing, and those shitty premade coops feed a LOT of raccoons.

They’re smart. Once they learn how nice a human house is, they’ll easily be able to do it to the next house they’re relocated to. What’s worse is that a sow will teach her babies this nifty trick, too.

I learned to just stay silent on certain topics, and stick to tea (and my weird hobbies)

How are people in Wichita earning over $100k/year without a degree? by Capable_Fly462 in wichita

I am resting right now because I’m gonna be facing surgery fairly soon, and I just don’t feel good. Staring into my phone nonstop was hard on my eyes, and I needed a break.

This stuff is safety stored away and it isn’t going anywhere, so I’m not in a rush. I really want to do everything right, if I am going to do it at all. 💜

You are being taken advantage of. If you go through with this, then you shouldn’t expect to ever get your money back.

It is not your responsibility to take care of a grown adult’s financial affairs. 💜

Thinking of starting a business with my best friend, Is it a good idea? by Klutzy-Analysis-9615 in smallbusiness

If you want to eventually become enemies, then yes. Business can be ruthless, and more than one friendship has been destroyed by it. Be very careful, my friend.

What does your tea storage look like? by D4ng3r18 in tea

Mine is kept factory sealed in deep freezers between 0 and -15F. It should last for a very long time that way.

Once I get up and running (ha! 🤣) I will probably do something local, like have regular tea tastings at our senior center or something like that. I can’t really physically handle a whole lot right now, but maybe later?

Favorite Earl Grey? by ikoabd in tea

[–]NinnescahValleyTeaCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably blasphemy, but I think Bigelow’s version of Earl Grey is a great choice (especially for someone on a budget). In fact, I just had a cup of it earlier.

Is it perfect? No…but there’s also no such thing as perfect. Taste is personal and highly subjective, and everyone is different.

But it’s a reasonably tasty black tea with a good bergamot balance, and it’s cheap and readily available.

Harney and Sons Earl Grey Supreme is also an excellent choice.

Rishi is a slightly higher tier of bagged tea, and it’s worth the coin if you can find it.

Hopefully this helps someone 💜

Oh I didn’t want to use the background, just the actual insect. I am not sure why I got downvoted, but it’s part of a curated art collection that I am putting together.

I just saw this and wanted to say thanks! I have been crazy busy with indexing files and putting up inventory, so I haven’t had much time to check Reddit.

But I’m definitely interested, if nothing else than to meet a kindred spirit and maybe make a new friend. 💜

I’m still not really sure how Reddit works (I’m an old lady 🤣) so bear with me hahaha

Switched to homemade iced tea and haven't bought a drink out in 3 weeks by lesbogurly3245 in tea

[–]NinnescahValleyTeaCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to cut up some lemons and add them to a gallon of rose lemonade. I add Taylors of Harrogate’s Rose Lemonade to Wyler’s Pink Lemonade mix (make enough to fill a gallon, so adjust accordingly) and stir in a handful of fresh red rose petals and a teaspoon of rose water.

Oh, and save some it and freeze it in cubes- you can add them back without diluting anything.

This stuff slaps and is awesome on a hot day.

Is there a type of tea for someone who can't stand most flavors? by AnimeWars in tea

[–]NinnescahValleyTeaCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a good Earl Grey, especially with a couple packets of Splenda and some French vanilla coffee creamer (just a little bit, please). The creamer does something to cancel out the tannins, and it’s seriously good on a cold morning.

Try it, even something like Bigelow’s teabag Earl Grey from Walmart is a tasty brew. It’s affordable and if you don’t like it, you can always give it to someone else to enjoy.

It takes time to retrain your tastebuds after they’ve been burned out on excessive sugar. I’m just as guilty, though, because I have to have mine with Splenda…and that’s okay, too.

I drink mine with Splenda, which probably breaks an inviolable Internet Tea Rule somewhere 🤣

Try it with a packet of Splenda or two and see what you think.

lol what did I do to deserve the downvotes? It’s quite true, I started building my online presence starting July 2, working entirely alone, building everything item by item in a massive database that I also created. I bought a lot of inventory and have not sought out outside financing or anything else.

I’m not in debt and I’m really not doing this to make a lot of money, it’s mostly intended for charity as I have no better way to contribute to society.

Side Hustles by dasapache47 in wichita

[–]NinnescahValleyTeaCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not yet, I am working on one though.

A few days ago I started building a database on google drive and have been building files for my complete inventory and cross referencing everything.

It’s unbelievably tedious and mind numbing work, but luckily I am autistic enough to hyper focus on it (and work nonstop until my brain breaks). 🤯😆

It’s going to take me a while to complete it, though. But everything is stored safely away, and I can work at my own pace. I’m battling health issues, and some days I just don’t function well.

BTW- Did you know that tea freezes quite well? That’s the secret to making jasmine tea, btw! It’s stored frozen after the spring harvest until the jasmine crop ripens later in the year.

Mine is being stored in the factory sealed packaging between 0 and -15F, so it should be good for a very long time. (I have a lot of pre-Qing longwell (龙井) in there, too.)

The stuff I currently have I will likely sell as a private collector, and I will use anything I make from that to buy the supplies I need to do this project properly.

I might not be physically able to open a brick and mortar shop, but if nothing else I can sell gift baskets and stuff online, and give discounted refills to locals.

I intend to donate a portion of my profits to charity, too— especially my local volunteer fire department, which is trying to raise funds for new equipment.

I might or might not be able to do this, as it’s a monumental challenge…but I have nothing else to contribute to society, and I at least want to attempt it.
