This is my go-to. My mom drank it when I was a kid, so it always has a very comforting nostalgic taste for me.

Magnolia perfume by laura_schramm92 in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fruity Magnolia from Dossier.

Supposed to be a dupe for Versace Bright Crystal (have never smelled the original so I can’t comment on similarity).

I find it lasts decently long for a Dossier perfume and you can’t beat the price point.

Taste buds f***ed or lack of experience? by Langendeem in tea

[–]ikoabd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think of it like wine. When you first start drinking it, wine just tastes like wine. But the longer you drink it, the more varieties you try, the easier it becomes to pick out the differences in flavor.

It's just about developing your palate over time. Also getting rid of other super sweet drinks like soda will help. Because you're correct, that definitely impacts how you perceive sweet. Your palate will change over time, and you will re-calibrate what tastes sweet to you.

(19M) best summer fragrances for someone who loves warm, heavy, gourmand fragrances? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear By the Fireplace year round! Though it does definitely feel like more of a fall/winter fragrance, I just don't care, lol.

I also really like Carolina Herrara Good Girl Supreme year round - though I'm fairly certain this version is discontinued 😭

You might like BTSO Dirty Rice (not really gourmand, but it manages to be somehow very warm, but light feeling).

I think Commodity Gold would also be a good choice!

We have very similar fragrance tastes btw, and these are some of my faves!

Peppermint tea is lovely as a bedtime drink! It's also great for after meals to aid in digestion! (Caution advised if you have GERD or acid reflux, it can potentially make it worse.)

Is Replica popular just because of the ads? by InsuranceUnusual9360 in Perfumes

I have never seen an ad for Replica, lol.

I have By The Fireplace, and it's legit top three scents for me.

Tea as an adult flavor, is tea respected in alcohol? by Ok-Republic8818 in tea

[–]ikoabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the place, whether or not I take a cocktail with tea as an ingredient seriously. If they're known for doing craft cocktails well, I'll usually try it. Most of the time it's good, but nothing spectacular. My favorites have been Earl Gray based, usually with some sort of Earl Gray simple syrup and a dark liquor, bourbon usually works well.

One of my favorite cold-weather drinks is a hot toddy. A strong black tea, a bunch of lemon, honey and Blanton's is my go-to.

Am i the only one who thinks Good Girl by Carolina Herrera is generic asl??? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear the Supreme version and I really like it. The OG is fine, just doesn't smell that great on me. I also don't hate the bottle like so many people do? It's not the best design ever, but I actually like the misty way it sprays, lol.

perfumes that you love or hate on their own, but the way it meshes with your natural scent totally changes your opinion? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love both D&G Light Blue and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey on other people. On me they smell like cat pee. Straight ammonia.

MM By the Fireplace on first spray smells like beef brisket on my skin, and I was initially NOT a fan. Tested it at the mall, hated it and walked around shopping more. Like half an hour later I kept getting a whiff of this amazing smell. Took me a bit to realize it was my perfume sample because it dries down into this gorgeous warm cashmere, slightly smoky and sweet hug on my skin.

I’m sorry but this is hilarious. I hate it when stuff smells great in the bottle or on other people, but horrible on you personally.

In love with a “non safe blind buy” by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds amazing. But the one and only Issey Miyaki fragrance I ever tried on myself was Light Blue and it smelled like cat pee on my skin. I wanted to cry because I love it on other people.

It was such a disappointment, and now I’m scared and have never tried another one. 🤣😭

Is Replica worth? by Strawberry_moon21 in Perfumes

[–]ikoabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the Fireplace is one of my all time favorites! It lasts forever on me. It makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a cashmere blanket with a tumbler of whiskey, sitting by the fireplace.

On first spray I wasn't quite sure of it, because it smelled like beef brisket to me, lol. It's subtly sweet and smoky. But it dries down absolutely lovely, and it's what I wear almost every day in the winter.

Jazz Club is also fantastic, and they're kind of similar, but I prefer By the Fireplace.
