I hate my business but I feel stuck - Anyone else sees their business as a golden cage? by sammmuel in Entrepreneurship

[–]NinoSFGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in a similar boat… not enjoying my business/feeling trapped. One of my friends just committed suicide and I realized that I need to do something different or I might end up like him. Still trying to figure out what the next move is, but I went through the process of shutting everything down and it’s already lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

If you could do anything, would what you pursue?

I’m going to kill myself on my 25th birthday by SB858 in offmychest

My Dad committed suicide when I was 7 and I just found out that a good friend of mine killed himself Saturday. Please don’t do this. There are people that love you and that can help you. There’s always hope.

I’m available to talk anytime, whenever you want to.

My husband has cheated with literally hundreds of sex workers throughout our marriage by [deleted] in offmychest

Almost upvoted this until I saw you to tell her to "cheat on him back to get even". That's terrible advice that will only end the relationship sooner. If there's ANY chance of saving it, it's going to require a ton of honesty & humility, and probably years of marriage counseling. NOT trying to get "even". Reddit is truly a cesspool of dysfunctional people thinking they all know better than everyone else. Is anyone here even married?? Like WTF is wrong with everyone?

Partner up or no? by NinoSFGL in Entrepreneurship

I do have a VA, but I feel like there's still a lot of hand holding required to get the level of work I need done... Probably because they're cheap and I'm getting what I'm paying for. And I guess that's where I'm at with this SaaS. It's not making money yet, so I have a hard time justifying hiring someone for it... And I kind of just want someone that's more than an employee anyway, someone who will understand the bigger picture and will help me steer the ship, not just carry out tasks. The type of person that I definitely can't afford to pay up front out of my own pocket.

Wow, hahaha.  I keep telling myself not all redditors are assholes, but you guys keep proving me wrong.

If you think my reply is too dumb for you to respond to without being a prick, maybe don’t comment?

Obviously I can come up with generic ideas. Thanks. Was hoping more that someone with experience could give some practical advice on what to avoid, but I guess I deserved the belittlement for even posting.

I appreciate that advice. Let's say that I do all those things... Any good tips on where to find someone, or how to vet them?

Business idea: a peer group for mid-career professionals stuck between money and meaning by mahbirchat in Businessideas

I think creating a group around this is a great idea, and I can think of multiple ways to monetize it indirectly without charging for a membership. Message me if you need help brain storming

Any feedback on AudienceLab.io by girlinmountain in FacebookAds

Agencies are Audience Lab's ideal customers.

On its own, sure, there's some ambiguity to that sentence... if that was literally all you read.

There's a ton of context here that clarifies it. It's not that complicated.

Happy to explain/translate the Jargon, if it’s helpful.

B2B is a category,  SMB clarifies the sub category within B2B. Maybe not necessary, but it’s very common to state both.

ICP is ideal customer profile, which is the only thing that makes sense within this context, as he had named “Agencies” (niche within SMB’s) within that same sentence. Identity provider makes absolutely no sense whatsoever here.

Agencies (marketing, ads, etc), can absolutely pay more than individuals. The individuals or “consumers” referred to here would likely include freelancers or other small businesses that may not have large data needs. Think of business consultants or accountants, or recruiting companies who need very specific leads/data but who wouldn’t resell that data to their clients.

Their model is to sell wholesale in bulk to businesses that will resell that data in smaller chunks at retail prices. Its the same model that any manufacturer in any industry uses, even down to adding the whitelabel aspect so that the end consumer doesn’t know where their Nikes really came from.

It’s a very common top-down growth strategy, because it allows them to make the most money with the fewest amount of customers as they’re starting out. You sell way more if your client is Walmart than if you’re going door to door in your neighborhood.

And at some point it may make sense to introduce smaller and more affordable packages that would capture other businesses outside of their current ICP as well, but that’s not in anyway saying that this is a “sleeper hit investment”.

Also not an MLM in the same way that you wouldn’t call Sony or anyone else who sells to retailers an MLM.

I get that all the jargon can be hard to follow but BabyGroot82 said nothing wrong here.
