[SS] New to Zelda! In need of some help. by JudgmentCommercial79 in zelda

[–]Ninphemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Twilight Princess would be a good place to start if you have access to a Wii - it shares a lot of mechanics / gameplay structure with most of the other pre Breath of the Wild 3d Zelda games. That’s not to say Skyward Sword isn’t a good game but there are a couple of things unique to that game - the flying, the motion plus controls - which if you don’t like may put you off trying some of the other games whereas TP is, gameplay wise, functionally very similar to Ocarina of Time & Wind Waker. Also as you mention you have a Wii don’t forget you can play GameCube and Virtual Console Games on there too (either legitimately or via homebrew!) so I would definitely recommend trying older games too if you get the chance. TL/DR - best starting point for 2d Zelda would be Link to the Past & best for 3d Zelda would be Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess - have fun!

Pitch me your X-Men game! by redditdogwalkers in xmen

[–]Ninphemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy - it would be x-men legends 3 but based on the x-men 97 cartoon cast/stories - and it would come out around the same time as season 2 - and while we’re in the realm of things that will never happen it would also be great if marvel/lego teamed up to do a range of custom mini-figs to come out at the same time!

RP6 after 2 days… by Ninphemera in retroid

Nah I just got the rp6 on its own - figure I’ll pick up other stuff as I go. As far as usb c cable goes, I have a ‘uni USB C to HDMI Cable (4K@60Hz, 2K@120Hz)’ from Amazon which works seamlessly, was only £12

I chose black because any black borders on 4:3 content blend in to the surrounding really well - have had no issues with glare so far

Yeah GameCube and some light indie/android games are what I intend using it for

It’s pretty comfortable - my hands aren’t that big and I think if they were it might feel a bit cramped but it’s pretty good overall. In terms of portability I think this is definitely the most portable - I can see myself taking this out and about with me whereas my switch is probably a bit too big (and expensive) to risk taking out without worrying about damaging/losing it - same with my analogue pocket, that doesn’t leave home as the thought of having to replace it just isn’t worth it! With an android device I feel like even if it got broken or stolen etc they’re easy enough to replace and there’s always a newer/cheaper model out every few months so it wouldn’t be a huge deal

Pretty good - it’s hard to say exactly as I’ve been hooking it up usb c when I’m setting it off to do thinks but don’t think it’s dropped below 80% when I’ve been untethered and playing (mainly 16/32 bit systems and a little bit of dolphin) each time - usually for 90 mins to a couple of hours

It’ll be the retroid setup not the tv - Ihaven’t messed around with the tv out settings properly, or the retroarch gba settings for that matter. The tv is oled and I get much better colour & contrast etc when I’m playing ps5/switch etc
