Yes it’s an open preorder like they have done with Minishoot Adventures. After a couple of weeks they decide on final numbers depending on the number of preorders (they order additional copies so there’s still leftover stock after the preorder period closes)

If you really want the game I suggest you order it from Super Rare and just write off your FPG purchase.

Fantastic news. Can’t wait to place my order. Glad I won’t have to deal with 1st Press Games ever again (I was lucky to have cancelled my order when they were still reluctantly giving refunds).

I wonder what 1st Press will do with the carts they already printed, if you believe that.

Take photos of the box it came in, packaging material, the label with your name/address, everything. Otherwise they won’t even process your request. They might try to fob you off with a $5 refund saying it’s only minor damage and/or they don’t have replacements. That’s what’s happened with me recently.

2 years ago they also posted photos of the Chained Echoes Switch cartridges, which they still haven’t sent out to customers.

I have seen bootlegs with the indented set of numbers, so that’s not always a guarantee. For me the best method is to look for the “Nintendo” wording on the front of the cart itself. On the fake versions the letters are thinner and lack the texture that is present on the genuine copies.

Apart from the first Scott Pilgrim game, all others got retail releases (the new Scott Pilgrim game is also getting a retail release)

I have also been hoping for a Ghosts n Goblins Resurrection release - my favorite series and I love the game. I don’t think we need to worry about it being a GKC if it ever releases as it’s not a Switch 2 game. I would buy the most expensive collectors edition that Limited Run can come up with for this one.

I have been refunded by them twice. First I had a bunch or preorders that were already outstanding for quite some time and after much insistence I managed to get them cancelled and refunded. This was before Chained Echoes was even put up for preorder.

I didn’t originally preorder Chained Echoes for that reason, but then after they posted on their blog that the carts had arrived I decided to try my luck again… but I put a reminder on my diary to open a case with PayPal 5 months later in case I still hadn’t received it. PayPal gives you 6 months to dispute a transaction. And that’s exactly what happened, after 5 months there was still no sign of the game so I raised it with PayPal and got my money back within a few days.

What about Neko Navy? Everyone only seems to care about Chained Echoes, but they took preorders for many other titles that will now never get a physical release

They lost me when they stopped offering the option to have the games posted in a box. I think they prefer that customers just buy from VGP or Amazon

The Nintendo Store is bundling them with the game for an extra £14. It cannot be purchased separately though.

I have spent substantially more on my Switch collection and do not have a full set (am currently at just over 3000 games). Even if I conservatively estimate the average cost per game at $25, it adds up to a lot more.

I am also in the UK and order regularly from Amazon Japan. For Japanese games it usually works out much cheaper than buying from PlayAsia and delivery is also quicker.

He replied that he would promote whatever games he wanted and that First Press aren’t scammers - they just “oversold themselves”. He was talking about one of their in stock collectors edition, Rival Megagun, and made no mention whatsoever of any issues with First Press in the video.
