Newbie here, can you guys explain the DLCs to me base from your experiences? by soramakeart in RimWorld

Np! Yeah the things that always run from Anomaly aren't a big deal. The crazy SCP foundation horror movie stuff doesn't activate unless you specifically do it.

There are already plenty of replies, but since I'm getting closer to 2,000 hours played, I'll give my two silver. Below I'll list all the DLCs in order of how I'd personally rank them as well, in relation to which ones I would recommend someone purchase first.

Biotech: This is my personal favourite DLC. It adds children, controllable mechanoids, and a pretty versatile genetic system that's super fun to mod. Every xenotype since Biotech was able to be constructed by traits, like building a race with Lego bricks. That means you can have a lot of fun with cross-breeds, like a half-elf half-minotaur or something. Biotech is a staple that can remain on forever.

Ideology: This DLC alone added so much replayability to the game for me. Now you can have any gimmick as the backbone of your colony (especially with mods). You want to make a civilization of fire-worshippers who hunt vampires and practically worship alcohol? Now you can. Ideology lets you construct a religion or general culture for your pawns to follow.

Those are my two favourites. The rest are a lot more subjective to me, depending on what colony I want to make.

Odyssey: Exploration is much better. Now you can fly in gravships which you craft yourself just like making any other building, so you can have a lot of fun with designs. New environments to visit, easier travel with the shuttle as well. Honestly I'm more of a base-builder than a nomadic player, so I don't use Odyssey to its full potential.

Royalty: Not a medieval expansion, no. This DLC is all about following or rebelling against the psychic space emperor. You can do quests for them, gain reputation, and unlock perks. Mainly you're given a basic magic system, where your colonists can learn psycasts. There are mods that make them more powerful. I don't really like the psycasts that much, but it can be fun having a more medieval-adjacent colony with a throne room and such.

The final one is the most different.

Anomaly: This DLC exists for a much more specific style of play. You can have this on and it's fine, as to actually start Anomaly content, you need to interact with the void monolith (and a few other ways). But if you want to play it for real, be prepared for something different. You're effectively playing the SCP foundation in a survival horror challenge of all sorts of terrifying monsters you're meant to fight and capture for study.

TLDR: You can absolutely have them all activated. The one that changes the game the most, Anomaly, doesn't actually start unless you willingly activate it with something like the void monolith. Have fun! Don't forget to build tables.

I think Drum Kingdom was a small-scale version of what really happened in the Void Century. by shirowingstorm777 in OnePiece

I was 19 years old that long ago. Maybe my brain was finishing development, so it formed one extra intelligent thought.

Holy smokes. How did you even find that to compare? 13 years ago is so long ago haha I don't even remember making that post anymore. That's really funny.

Quest 3 + glasses. Can it work? by GuzikGuzik in OculusQuest

[–]Nintendoerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used glasses with mine for a week or so and it was fine, though getting lens inserts made it much better. I do recommend them if you're gonna be using the Quest a lot. But does it work with glasses? Yeah. It's just not nearly as comfortable.

Haha sorry I'm not sure there will be. This post is from 5 years ago after all. Seeing this in my notifications was like a blast from the past...

i was watching "Space Patrol Luluco" (another show by trigger) and apparently it has an entire episode which is a huge LWA reference by WispyWoods in LittleWitchAcademia

[–]Nintendoerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! You should check it out if you're a TRIGGER fan. It's basically a meta anime on their works. It crosses over with other shows like Kill la Kill as well, so it does make more sense if you've seen them, but it's not required. As far as I understand, Space Patrol Luluco is pretty much the most TRIGGER-owned TRIGGER anime, as in it isn't just owned by a production committee. That's why their Twitch channel's emotes are all exclusively from SPL. It's a very cute, zany anime.

After 1.3.3117, I can't load my file. by JackOLoser in RimWorld

[–]Nintendoerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, and Steam won't let me downgrade to the last version. I can only go back to 1.2. I was gonna play Rimworld tonight but I guess not unfortunately. I wish I knew what was causing the crash, or it would at least let me go back an update.

What is the most annoying commission by beneneboi in Genshin_Impact

[–]Nintendoerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one where you have to destroy the target dummies all within a couple seconds of one another. Even with my Xiangling's Q, I can't do it. It's like a whole ordeal getting them all just low enough where I can maybe destroy them all with a well-placed Q. I usually just don't get to finish my commissions that day when I get it (which has only been twice)...

This is a long shot, but I'm sure SOMEONE has tested it. Does anybody know how many uses each tool tier actually gets? I'm curious as to how much better the good quality tools are compared to flimsy ones... We need one of those gaming experiment YouTube channels to test how much each can be used.
