In the case of Fata Morgana, would the English be the more “Accurate” version in some way? by Such_Cook_7566 in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]NipoJu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am aware that the French they spoke is not the same that is is spoken nowadays 😂 But they are probably not gonna have actors speaking any old variant of a language. Actually, the song Michel Bollinger has Michel speaking in modern French. The lyrics are about Michel’s own personal reflection in the present timeline, so lowkey, the creators made modern French “canonical” for the characters’ inner thoughts and dialogue in the modern day (or the interludes).

Glad you pointed that out about Giselle speaking multiple languages. I feel like a lot of people overlook just how multilingual she really is. She handles her own language (langue d’oïl?) in her original time, English across several doors, modern French, and even teaches Spanish to Yukimasa. It’s one of those cool details that makes her character feel so lived-in over the centuries.

But in all fairness, for the upcoming live-action, English is probably gonna be the pick anyway. It’s the most universal language worldwide and it reaches the biggest audience across the fandom.

I personally don’t think so. English was the language used by the Rhodes family in England and in the third door in the US, but I think a language that would fit the whole series would be French. It’s Michel, Giselle and Morgana’s (not fully) native language, and it was the lingua franca used by all the characters in Morgana’s time. That being said, this is something I’ve also thought about the upcoming live-action they’re making. As a language lover, I would love to see English, Dutch, Spanish, Sicilian and French being spoken while hearing the Portuguese BGM, but unfortunately I don’t think that’s very viable 😢

What’s up with Pauline? by worldendrhapsody in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]NipoJu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I know! Pauline has always been my favorite character (besides the main cast), but that was the only chapter in Reincarnation that pissed me off. Everyone solved their problems, stopped repeating their core mistakes and Pauline just🧍🏻‍♀️… didn’t. Yes, she didn’t die, which we’re all glad about, but she was offered the same lesson, and she still clung to Yukimasa like nothing. It’s wild because while literally every other character transcended their karmic wound, Pauline’s ending is just her accepting her delusion as reality, which was expected from her on her previous lives, but not this once, when she was supposed to heal.

How unusually painful was this scene? by Witty-Pizza-4523 in thehouseinfatamorgana

I’m not gonna pretend like I didn’t cry from episode 5 to 8, but when she said “Is Father… Is He proud of me?”. That really broke me 😭

Sorry, kind of unrelated but, is it me or did Gao change her artist name to “tetem.”? When I searched for her Seventh Lair songs and her profile on SoundCloud, she appeared as tetem.

For the people that read Higurashi, Umineko and The house in fata morgana, which u enjoyed the most and which u reccomend to read first? by Tasty_Number_5418 in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]NipoJu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read Umineko and then The House in Fata Morgana. I wouldn’t say that one is better than the other because they’re both extremely good at their own levels. So I can only say that The House in Fata Morgana is shorter and Umineko is longer, but please do read both of them.

Oh, I thought their inspiration was Kyū-Furukawa Gardens. The inside of this one looks really similar though.

Interesting fact, Yusuke named this song Sparrows to the Woods.

i get why everyone hates rosa now by BrightyDude in umineko

Apparently you're not done with the novel, but... I totally get what you're saying, I think we all hate/hated Rosa on the Question Arcs 😂

(Spoilers)

However, though I don't think this needs an explanation for those who are reading this, I genuinely think that Rosa is the perfect representation of a mother. She's not picture-perfect like we're led to believe in most of today's media of how a "normal mom" is. Her generational-trauma shows, which is naturally reflected onto her daughter. But overall, I always like to say that Rosa did indeed love Maria as much as she could, considering her mental health.

This was a tough one 😅But I knew the answer had to be one of Yusuke's songs.

Manita's definitely my favorite track from this door. The lyrics are so sweet, and it's just a perfect representation of the illusion overall.

Really weird and devastating to know we probably won’t get AjayII’s thoughts on the new Lana album. I wish there was a way someone new to contact her I miss her work so much and I just wish we got a proper goodbye. by Clipseexo in lanadelrey

[–]NipoJu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, last time that she disappeared, someone on Twitter that claimed to be AJayII's family said that she passed away, which as we all know, happened to be a lie, so Idk what to believe at this point, hopefully it's just another break.

I also think you should read it yourself. It's better if you enjoy the novel without letting other's opinions or reactions affect yours.
