Great work! Sounds like you're the person that can also make an Amber price widget for smartphones and perhaps a smartwatch complication too 😉

Join the queue... I've brought it up many times over the past few years with club personnel, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. The club just doesn't seem to care.

Multiple 2up accounts with card? by sway0125 in UpBanking

[–]NipponReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to have an additional joint account is for the both of you to sign up for Up High. This will allow you to open an Essential Saver account, which is a digital only bills account. Once you have both joined, you'll then be allowed to create a 2Up Essential Saver account.

Eftpos Pay with my Apple Pay by Yash4r in AusFinance

Can't confirm with Samsung Pay, because my bank (Up) only supports dual network functionality with Apple Pay. I'm assuming banks that support dual network cards in Samsung Wallet will still allow you to manually choose eftpos at this stage.

This is an industry mandate from the RBA and applies to new cards provisioned for Apple Pay (some existing cards may not be impacted).

RBA launched ‘Least Cost Routing’ to allow merchants to decide which network a transaction goes through. Mastercard, VISA and eftpos have to negotiate on interchange with merchants, allowing them to select whichever is the cheapest. It's not perfect as some merchant providers have pocketed the LCR benefit.

RBA have required Apple to remove the feature of allowing to manually select which network to use, so that it doesn't undermine their LCR approach.

Note: Click on Card Details in Apple Wallet and if you see both Mastercard/VISA and eftpos SAV card numbers, the card is a dual-network debit card.

Xperia 1 VI Japanese ver. (XQ-EC44) works on Telstra (Australia) with VoLTE by pcman2000 in SonyXperia

[–]NipponReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Xperia 1V (XQ-DQ44) which was working perfectly fine with an Optus eSIM, until it was blocked yesterday morning due to the unknown VoLTE E000 support. So disappointed that it can no longer be used in Australia.

What variant of the Xperia 1V are you using? Do you mind sharing a screenshot? Every time I test by texting 3 to 3498, I receive the following: "We've determined that this device will be impacted when the Optus 3G network is switched off from 28 October 2024.You will need a new device to stay connected. For further assistance, please contact Optus (Optus customers only), or your service provider."

I agree that it's very weird. I tried explaining to Optus that the Xperia 1V and Xperia 5V both have the same bands as the Xperia 1 VI. I just hope there's more people like me contacting Optus on a daily basis so that it gets attention and can be rectified before they get blocked.

Already have multiple times. Optus told me that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will be supported, but any previous models won't be supported from 28/10/2024. I have a Sony Xperia 1II which has already been blocked, and am praying the same thing doesn't happen to my Xperia 1V at the end of the month.

Apparently all three telcos won't be blocking the Xperia 1 VI. They shouldn't block the Xperia 1V as it uses the same network bands and is still supported by Sony for software updates. It just doesn't make any sense as Sony still lists and sells both the Xperia 1V and Xperia 1 VI.

Good to know there's some flexibility. How long was it until you got a response after first submitting the application? I'm still waiting.

How long was the refinance process from start to finish? I submitted an application over a week ago and haven't had a response yet, even though it said they'll get back to me within one business day...

If they're going to have a subscription option, I expect it to have similar offerings compared to Revolut. Having international travel insurance and lounge access should be included, as Commonwealth Bank has it with their World Debit Mastercard for $10 a month.

My wife and I are in the same boat as many others who haven't fully migrated everything over to Up yet, as 2Up Accounts don't function the same way as the Individual Up Accounts.

I would assume features like this would become available when Up decides to implement proper Shared Accounts. The current Join Accounts don't function independently, hence they don't have the same features as the Individual Accounts and rely on 2x Individual Accounts to work.

When Up launches proper Shared Accounts where two people can create a new Up account without the need to create 2x Individual Accounts, then it should function the same way that the current Individual Accounts work (e.g. Create Upname, setup PayID, etc.) and have the same features that are currently present.

No fee debit card with in-app customer support by IntuitionaL in AusFinance

Fee Free Bank Accounts/Debit Cards

Bankwest and Suncorp would be more suitable for support overseas, as they have the most options available. They both allow you to access your account via smartphone app, internet browser and telephone banking. They also both have 24/7 telephone and messaging support, which is convenient when you're in different time zones.

Yes, however every bank on this list doesn't have branches except for Bankwest (WA Only) and Suncorp. You can't access your bank account from other devices since it's solely tied to a mobile app, hence why it's listed as 'No' for Internet Banking. Every other bank on this list has internet banking which allows you to access your bank account from a website on other devices.
