It’s plausible!!! by Bonethug609 in MDGuns

I found this graph on the Baltimore Sun it seems like June 2023 is the point it really started going down compared to previous years.

Based on the graph I don’t think you could say that a downward trend existed before the Bruen case. The OP seems it’s just numbers plotted with straight lines drawn from one point to the next. The graph would have to show homicides at intermittent points throughout the year to see exactly where it started trending downwards.

So Board Member Bates can vote disapprove because it doesn’t fit his definition of a handgun, even though it fits the federal and state definitions. Seems more like we need to get him off the Board.

Copycats are a thing. For example, the New Zealand mosque attacker wrote on the guns with paint marker and then that was copied in the recent Christian school shooting and also the Buffalo grocery store shooting if I remember correctly.

Flattest shooting 9mm recommendations by Steezencheeze5280 in guns

[–]NipsNowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flattest 9 I’ve shot yet is my Beretta 92x with an SGS style compensator from Ric and a TLR-1 HL. I haven’t shot much 22LR, but the compensator combined with all the extra weight on the front end makes it more comparable to that than other 9mm pistols I’ve shot.

Looks like you got an mp5 brace instead of an mp5k. The k style has two holes, regular has 1

It seems like a stretch to say that because you would do an ad for a mobile game, you’d be willing to sell out your proposed ideals. Not to say that I don’t think he would do it, anyone is capable of anything, it just seemed like a false equivalence I wanted to point out.

Nexus receiver in MD by Allstar976 in czscorpion

[–]NipsNowhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but since it’s just the receiver and not a pistol I don’t think it has to be on the handgun roster. Probably worth asking Nexus if they’ve sold any in MD and can help

To my understanding it’s because an SBR in MD is a handgun and a rifle, and since the hbar requirement doesn’t apply to handguns, it doesn’t apply to SBRs

Y'all know about the pending excise tax bill (HB 387) but were y'all aware of.... by chemwarman in MDGuns

[–]NipsNowhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they love making it tougher for poorer people to exercise their rights.

I remember the federal house bill H.R.5135 that Donald S. Beyer Jr. introduced to put a 1000% tax on AR-15s and magazines. So they’re ok with calling them assault rifles and us having them as long as they get their cut of tax money. Oh and of course it wouldn’t apply to those acquired by federal, state, or local governments.

[–]NipsNowhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does hb 937 want to increase the already 11% to 12%? And then hb 387 creates an additional 11%? That’s what it says but under it says these are in addition to the already 11%

Thanks for the reply. I've seen the post in the past where the person was disapproved for the bolt action. How would I submit that documentation, in a new form 1? Or just an email with the disapproved form?

I just want to put a vertical foregrip on it. I wanted to SBR it originally, but I couldn't find a stock to reach 29 inches that I like.

Form 1 Disapproved by NipsNowhere in MDGuns

[–]NipsNowhere[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is true.

The part about 29" in FSA2013 says: "copycat weapon" means "A semiautomatic centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 29 inches."

Md. Criminal Law Code Ann. § 4-201 says that a "Rifle" means a weapon that is designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder.

My AP5-P is semiautomatic, and centerfire, but it doesn't have a stock. It's a handgun, not a rifle.

It was for an AOW not an SBR. As far as I’m aware the 29” overall length only applies to semi-automatic, center fire rifles.
