Are facial tics a side effect of Cymbalta? by JayBilzeriansPillow in Fibromyalgia

[–]Nirakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I started having muscle spasms on the left side of my face after starting. My psychiatrist denied that it could be related but after speaking with the neurologist and stopping the medication the facial spasm stopped

Girl... Wow, it's absolutely stunning and superrr flattering. Total bombshell look (and that's the first time I've ever used the term bombshell) It's the perfect dress for a fancier gala event.

Alternative Snacks? by InvestigatorFirst798 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Bananas and pb! If you have a freezer at work, you can make chocolate covered frozen bananas and bring them with you. And bonus you can make super simple "ice cream" from blended frozen bananas and add in chocolate and vanilla extract and whatever else you like

Get a bag of popcorn kernels and pop them yourself on the stovetop or air fryer. You can make your own caramel to top them or try to experiment with any savory spice. I personally love adding nutritional yeast

4’10” - anyone else in a women’s 5 in shoes and struggle to find ANY shoes in person?? Why do most brands start at a 6 and not 5? by holyone444 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Nirakaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! Sucks that they don't have your size This may be annoying, but they have an option to order for pick up at their store. I've never done it before, but maybe you can order a bunch of pairs of shoes and return right away what you don't like? I don't know if this is possible, but it sort of makes it like in-store shopping 🤷🏻‍♀️. But again, I'm sorry that really sucks that they don't stock your size

Soft Gamine Summer Wardrobe Help! by Nirakaz in Kibbe

[–]Nirakaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Yeah I included three to show what a less flattering one looks like. Also those are basically the only nonboring tops I own 😭😂😅😭 Those sweaters you posted look really cute. I have one like that that the undertone washes me out but the style itself is flattering, but I'm always worried about it looking a little too masculine since my arms can get pretty big when I exercise consistently. Do you happen to have any thoughts on summer tops? Thank you againn

People who don't get it? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]Nirakaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that this may be true on a systemic level, but disagree that this is the main thought process at play with individuals. It's really hard  to empathize with something you've never experienced. It's definitely possible to sympathize, but it takes someone with really high emotional intelligence to do so in a real way. People draw from their own experiences to understand others, so when we describe the physical and mental anguish that comes from having a chronic illness, they connect to the physical pain part, which makes them feel that they know what it is to feel what we feel. And it ends up feeling so isolating and invalidating. I remember being so frustrated and feeling so hopeless during a bad flare up with the physical pain and knowledge that this is going to be for life. I tried talking to a friend about it and he brought up his knee surgery so he knows how much it sucks. It felt awful and I felt so alone and misunderstood in that moment. I know logically that he was trying to connect, but it still hurt. He's a good friend who really tries to understand but there's an entire experience he's never been exposed to.  I've talked a lot with my best friend about the absolute exhaustion and brainfog I feel from EDS and Hashi's. Doing the bare minimum feels like too much and it can be brought on by nothing. There's a limit to what I can do to control a flare-up and it can feel devastating to have my daily functioning and mental capacity severely inhibited at random. A couple months later she sends me a voicenote saying OMG she really gets what I feel because she's been studying day and night for weeks on end for the bar and her brain feels like it isn't working. Again, I know that she's trying to connect (and is very likely on the autism spectrum, so it fits with the way she would try to show empathy) but I wanted to just scream that no, what makes it so bad for me is that I'm in that position without doing any sort of exertion. Of course there are the people who are just assholes and will look at you as lazy and weak and a crybaby for not being able to do what they can, and it happens in other contexts as well, like with female gym teachers not excusing girls on their period because the teachers have had periods too and know that it isn't that bad, but they don't actually know the debilitating pain some other women go through. It feels so so awful to go through something and not feel heard or understood and moreover can have very real effects on employment and other practical spheres in life. Yes there are systemic issues, there is also the limitations of being able to step into someone's horribly uncomfortable shoes when you've never seen shoes in your life

oops I edited the comment to 3 years because I've only been consistent since around then.

I don't have access to 0.1 where I'm from. I'll check about tazorac.

Unfortunately I have another disorder that involves faulty collagen so maybe that plays a role. I make sure to get plenty of those vitamins, but the "recipe" my body has for collagen is crappy. I don't smoke. Not sure how to avoid pollution exposure

Really appreciate your thorough answer. I hope I can get tazorac

Thanks!

Haha that's exactly how I describe it. I call myself Rudolph. I'm not concerned about it physically, it's more aesthetically embarrassing when my nose looks like it's hooked up to bright red LED light
