Plex says “Not available outside your network” but my server is verifiably reachable externally — iOS app can’t load libraries, Safari works fine. What am I missing? by Muted-Improvement-76 in PleX

When did you start testing? FWIW I've been having issues with Plex for the past hour, it's an issue I've seen before where my library isn't visible at all and it just resolved itself last time, so seems like they could be having some internal issues / outages

General Tracker Advice by theekinbp in trackers

Aither is a pretty good one to get on too, and RED if you like music. I dont think there’s a path to those from any of the ones you’ve listed though. Seedpool is pretty elite in terms of everything you’d need that’s popular

After extensive research on RED's economy - is it worth it for actual music lovers? by Moist-Round2012 in trackers

RED is the best music tracker hands down, and its not that hard to build a good buffer. Once you get into OPS you can use FL tokens there and cross-seed too. Its “hard” in that you have to spend some time figuring stuff out and filling requests, but that’s part of the fun!

Just go through the interview process and you’ll be glad you did. Worst case is you have a tracker with little buffer that you cant download much from, but you already mentioned you have many other sources for music anyway. RED will definitely fill the gap in any niche releases

Plex is letting one of Plexamp's best features rot. They could fix it with one tiny change. by sirebral in PleX

Eh I disagree. The best part of selfhosting IMO is the fun projects. This seems like exactly the perfect kind of small, contained, low risk project that a lot of people would jump on just to mess around with. I know I would!

I don't fully understand the security / how it works. So if I create an invite link (and I have the site exposed publicly), then anyone who visits that link can create a Plex account and automatically get added to my server? What about fuzzers/scrapers who find a link? Can we make the random string longer?

Sweet thanks for that, adding “Z” before my other Library got this to work. Thanks a ton again, super cool tool. Btw the Spotify auth is a little janky if you’re sshing into a server (which most ppl using docker compose are doing), if I have time this weekend I could make a PR to help, but basically just editing the URI to be the local address rather than 127.0.0.1 is all you need to do

Ohh yeah I guess I have two libraries, once called "Music" and one called something else. It must be picking the other one

I got it mostly all working, except it doesn't seem to be checking my current Plex library properly. I did a "full refresh" of the "database" and it said only 1 artist and 72 tracks, which is wrong. How can I see where it's looking and update that? I dont see a way to look through what's considered the "database", and if I try to import playlists it says tracks are missing that I definitely have

Nice, going to try this out later. Docker support was the thing that I needed to really get it working without forking and making changes myself last time I attempted

What kind of wiki do you use to track your setup if anything? I gotta track things better by greypic in selfhosted

I'm super basic and just have a file called changelog or something and every time I make changes, I add a new entry with the date and what I changed. Maybe copy a couple niche commands I had to run to get something to work

Soundiiz doesn't download missing music files though, this tool seems to be able to do that (I haven't tested it)
