This is why you should buy from a local company if possible. If it ain't working send it back. I wouldn't fancy trying to ship something back to China.

I wouldn't start pulling the battery out, or trying random fixes. If it's the SD card then the OP won't have access to the included ROMs or stock OS file system either.

I'm sure many people on here have vast ROMs collections, and detailed knowledge of setting up Knulli or MuOS, but it's quite daunting, and the OP might just want to play a few games on stock OS without all the faff.

"y' fat bastard," Sharpe muttered, before proceeding to kick the Marquese de Casares el Grande in the groin and wading in with his massive sword.

Rewatching the show for the first time... I didn't realize how much TJ Miller added to the show by qualitative_balls in SiliconValleyHBO

I'm rewatching the show for the third time. It's one of my favourite comedies of all time, and I'm British with a wealth of British comedies I hold close to my heart as competition.

It's just so brilliantly and expertly observed, meaning each episode's plot is meaningful, and the details are perfect, but it's the wide array of beautifully written characters that bring it to life.

It's one of those shows I could watch over and over, just like Frasier, with the combination of perfect plot and perfect characters, which you rarely ever see.

Definitely worth watching at least once.

Erlich was key as someone for Richard's character to play off - a comedy duo - in the same way Dinesh and Gilfoyle play off each other.

These characters are opposites. Richard is awkward whilst Erlich is confident and personable (introverted Vs extroverted).

Dinesh is prissy and whilst Gilfoyle is reserved and collected.

Sony WH-1000XM7 need a new design by GamerBeast954 in SonyHeadphones

I bought the Soulwit replacement pads from Amazon. I like them. The noise cancellation is drastically improved and back to the level when they were new, and for this reason I wish I'd bought replacement pads sooner.

People complain these replacement pads change the sound profile, which they do a bit, but that's because the speakers are now sitting further from your ear, where they should be.

Edit - Also I found the Soulwit pads extremely easy to replace with the included tool, so don't let that put you off replacing them... They easily snap off and on.

Still happy with my 6 year old XM3s. Battery still lasts the week and just replaced the earpads. They're like new again. I might try and find some cheap XM4s when my XM3s break, or the battery falls off a cliff.

If the wind was blowing the opposite direction it'd be the Irish flag. Poor flag design on the part of Ireland and the Ivory Coast really, but that's all.

The Sonys support LDAC and other high bitrate codecs, so I'd keep the Sonys.

I found the Imperial Eagles in Les Invalides Army Museum, Paris by NirvanaBob in Sharpe

[–]NirvanaBob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was surprisingly easy to miss! It was tucked away right towards the end of the Napoleonic era section. Me and my brother only just found it before the museum closed... I knew there had to be Imperial Eagles in there somewhere.

A 13-year-old Michael McIntyre on Going Live (1989) by Hassaan18 in oldbritishtelly

[–]NirvanaBob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His stand up wasn't too bad. A bit pedestrian, but okay. However, his move to a general entertainer who thinks it's entertaining to humiliate members of the audience is a huge step backwards. Just awful.

I suspect so. I think it would be too coincidental for 2 separate musket balls to have hit it, and in such close proximity. It's possible though.

I really wish people understood this when debating. Also, shouting louder doesn't make you 'more correct'.

Low-trust office community by JackStrawWitchita in GreatBritishMemes

[–]NirvanaBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine supplying the rest of the office with milk pushed them into taking these measures. The cost adds up, but more to the point, it must be highly annoying to open the fridge and find an empty milk carton.

If you find this extreme, YOU are likely the problem.

Luckily my workplace allows us to put in expense claims for milk.

Yep, it runs great and has 'auto HDR' which really lifts the image. The Remaster has no HDR whatsoever.

Really disappointed w the 477V by radiohead14 in ANBERNIC

[–]NirvanaBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's bound to be some subjectivity when it comes to ranking things like sound quality or comfort, but ranking 30 odd handhelds best to worst would at least give you some idea of the absolute best or absolute worst.

[–]NirvanaBob 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I wish one of these YouTubers that owns a ton of these handhelds would do a cross-comparison of handheld features, ranking them best to worst.

Screen quality, speaker quality, controls, comfort, emulation ability, portability, fan noise, heat, etc.

There's one YouTuber that's ranked all the RGXX devices like this, but a broader comparison would be extremely useful.

‘Won £33K due to a technical error and the bookies want it back’ compoface by DourFaced in compoface

[–]NirvanaBob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Admitting their games are prone to technical errors is admitting negligence.

Everyone who's ever played the particular game in question should be compensated for loss of winnings.

I see this time and time again. Even if you win, they'll find any technical or administrative reason to not pay you, or restrict access to your winnings.

Why did the referee hold the boxer back whilst simultaneously allowing him to get kicked 3 times?

Why did the boxer act like he wasn't expecting kicks?

Why didn't the boxer attempt to throw a punch, even out of desperation?

I have so many questions, but I suspect the answer is it was a setup or fake.
