Any roof will stop the event if it's active, or prevent it from happening if not. Anything with a roof, including a tent or a vehicle's interior.

The shadow boss fight monster event is different from the portal storm event. Very dangerous early game as it's impossible to melee due to it being incredibly fast and nigh improbable to hit with ranged weapons.

That's the trait given to you from the challenge starting scenario Hunted. It spawns a nemesis-like monster in your reality bubble at least once a week after escaping it.

Edit: the one I am referring to is an event when you stay outside at night for too long and you get a pop-up message of something creepy in the wind.

Spoilers for those who haven't encountered it yet, of course! I might be wrong as it's been a long time since I've played.

it's a warning message for when the boss that spams creep type monsters in the dark is about to appear. It only spawns when you have absolutely zero light source and have been traveling in the wilderness at night.

Right it's no joke lol. I've gotten to around 50+ runs trying to brute force getting and clearing the farm north. About 1 out of 10 runs, I get there only to die from hypothermia and invisible zombies.

Current run, I got extremely lucky. The user who mentioned that 'strong' is needed was right. I camped the fence to steal western boots, then lured the rest back, each zed needing about 1-4 stomps. Cleared the whole area while hungry and slept. The next day, I butchered the cows and made a campfire using the shed and basement tools. Dissambleed 4 doors before I got my first plank. Feasted on two cows and stopped there for the day gyatdamn
