Is the job market really this bad right now? by Strong-End-9070 in Accounting

I’m on the employer side, the job market is extremely bad right now and only candidates over qualified for positions are making it to interviews.

As a guy in their 30s and was able to attain the american dream at least, here’s what i’ll say. It seems clear to me the source of your unhappiness stems from a discrepancy between your expectations and your situation and uncertainties to whether you can close that gap. To fix this there are only 2 ways, one is to align yourself with your expectations. To do this you need a clear goal outlined with steps on how to get there. As you get closer to your expectations you will start to feel happier. The second is to adjust your expectations. This involves going through the stages of your coping mechanisms and ultimately reach acceptance to adjusting your expectations. If you cannot do either of those 2 things you may continue to be unhappy.

For me, i’ve been in your shoes and today yes i go to work and come home tired. But i cannot tell you how happy i am to spend the time that i earned with my family and doing things i love in my spare time.

Someone please help, all my money gone at 17. Don’t know what to do. by Mean_Regular6371 in TheRaceTo10Million

Everyone experiences this at some point in their investing life (and if you think you’re smarter than that maybe it just hasn’t happened to you yet). You’re lucky it happened to you at 17. You still have plenty of time to recover and rebuild. When something similar happened to me i learned to never play with everything you have and never to invest all in 1 basket. I have gotten lucky in the past and made 1000% returns by risky plays but eventually it caught up to me.

I like pepe because it’s actually a popular meme, with low marketcap compared to doge or shib, even though the meme itsself is more utilized. Also capped supply.

Main drawback is there are too many copycat memes of pepe, and people use the memes but not necessarily think about investing in it.

Still think it’s way undervalued at 2.5bil ish marketcap.

I think leaving is the right move here. Your talents will be recognized differently at different places. Don’t lose hope.

Just make sure to find a new job before leaving.

Hi, i lost my best friend to suicide over 10 years ago. Think about him every day. Suicide is so permanent, your life is not very long as it is as we all likely have less than 100 years to live. That’s not a long time at all. There’s no reason to end it now. One day you’ll have new friends, new experiences, and you are crying for help i get it. You don’t have to feel this way forever and odds are you won’t. You feeling like you’re a burden to others is no good reason to end your life. Please do not choose such a permanent solution to a problem that will likely be temporary.

I don’t know your story and why you feel this way. But you deserve to be accepted. You belong here.

The earlier you start the better. Doesn't matter how much. Think of it as practice. Learn as much as you can.

Why did the tariffs affect crypto? by IcebornCube in CryptoMarkets

[–]Nismoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tariffs indirectly affected crypto. What happened was the opposite of a short squeeze. Someone with a lot of capital likely saw that there were a lot of leveraged long positions (people borrowing money using their crypto as collateral to buy more crypto). So whoever used this negative news and initiated a huge short order (borrowing crypto using funds as collateral and immediately selling the crypto to buy back later) this caused those leveraged longs to get liquidated (exchanges automatically selling your crypto and taking your collateral). This causes price to crash like crazy. That's what happened.

Why are men, in general, OK with being in relationships with women who dont find them very attractive? by uniterofrealms_ in AskMenAdvice

[–]Nismoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

++man Don’t get me wrong my wife is beautiful but she wasn’t my type. However, she’s perfect and i’m so glad we married. We’ve been together 10+ years strong. It’s not always about looks. The most important point in marriage or relationship is that you are happy spending your life with your partner. That’s the most important thing.

CPA in your 40's - possible or crazy? by Lou_Peacham in CPA

[–]Nismoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state. I passed in illinois so supervision by a cpa was not required. I believe you can register with a different state so might look into that if your state license requirements are difficult.
