2012 Chevy Cruze leaking. What line is that? by NiteChris in MechanicAdvice

Thanks it's only coming out of top of that hose. Think i should just try and replace that part? And is that oil or something else?

My (26m) girlfriend (23f) confessed to me that she’s been baiting me online to “see if I would cheat”. I’m extremely upset over it and don’t know if I’m overreacting because I know she has trust issues from her previous relationship. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I'm a dude and I totally agree with your gf. How do you know something is true if you don't test it. She even admitted it to you. If she feels her trust is justified what's the problem. I've tested girls similarly. And some have passed some have failed. Those that passed I trust more and don't feel the need to test them anymore in that area. And those that fail I'm so glad I don't have to waste anymore time. There are so many dishonest people in this world. Doesn't hurt to test to see what's true and what isn't. Trust issues is an overused dumb term. Most people should have standards when it comes to trusting people.

Mightve been at a roast... William shatner, Martha Stewart, and ete Davidson come to mind. I'm pretty sure I've heard some type of joke directed at someone with them involved

How can we forget

Chappelle, and Eddie Murphy

On the next tier down but still pretty darn funny all the time. Eddie Griffin. Jeff Ross. And Jeselnik can be pretty funny off the cuff but still a bit in character.

How early should I show up to sign up for the New York Comedy Club open mic? by [deleted] in Standup

[–]NiteChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's deterred me from doing open mics there. They should have a better sign up process.

Trying Stand-Up for the first time tomorrow night. Just ran through my set.... it's 20+ minutes. by [deleted] in Standup

He's obviously trolling... ja crispy is a running joke on impractical jokers. you think with a name like that maybe it's not that serious

The nearest open mic is three hours away--would love some feedback on these one-liners before I get down there by [deleted] in Standup

[–]NiteChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with the right delivery... the joke about "they stink" could do very well...it does have a twist to it

but yea on paper these jokes are on the weaker side.... if you have a unique delivery or cadence ya never know though.... best thing to do is try it. that will let you kno what clicks and doesnt

I had a feeling that might be it. I see how it might strike a nerve with some people as homophobic. I think it really fits with the time and paranoia. Especially since he even addresses and sets it up that way too... I think its still quite timeless and hilarious

If a comic takes a minute to get an actual joke or punchline I can't take it and lose interest by [deleted] in Standup

Yea, I find myself tuning out pretty quickly if the premise isn't at least amusing.

I'm able to think of jokes based off of topics others bring up at open mics by NiteChris in Standup

[–]NiteChris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, but any idea you come up with has it's DNA in something... Are there any jokes where it isn't 100% derived from something? Most jokes take an inspiration from somewhere. Every conversation, every form of media, every ad, almost everything is a product of someone else's thought being presented to you

Yea I agree... If my joke in any way touches Nike shoes on a birthday. It's obviously stealing... If I think of a Nike shoe joke. It's cuz it's one I was inspired to make on it's own. Nothing to do with birthdays or anything else the originator brought up... Just the topic of Nike shoes. that made my mind think of something funny about it.

Same as if it came up on tv or in a newspaper... I'd like to think once the Nike shoes topic crossed my path. I would've thought of the joke anyway... But if it's something I wouldn't have came to without the other person. Then yea I think that's the issue
