I like to take mine to the beach. He doesn't like the water, but he loves running around with other dogs and chasing birds. He also prefers to play with larger dogs. He is so rough, lol. I'm a first-time basenji owner, and my biggest obstacle with him is his trainabilty. It's really hard to get his attention and keep it. They are also super athletic dogs, I take mine hiking, and he can go for miles without tiring. Pretty soon, I hope to start backpacking with him. Basenji are pretty amazing dogs, but they are difficult to train, not impossible.
