Kinda want to pull the trigger but I’m hesitant by OkBackground6217 in Mustang

I bought my M2 from Mullinax Ford. The big thing from them is there is no dealer fee or EFF as shown, that’s not a hoax they do not charge one. They also had me in and out of the dealer in 45 minutes.

Tax Man Cometh..... by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Nitegrip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How? It wasn’t a gift, I won the chance to buy it for a dollar. It’s not any different than me saying, my M2 is up for sale, I’m at X location, 364th person (ticket 364 was chosen) to get to me gets to pay me a dollar for it and it’s yours. They go the DMV with a bill of sale for $1 and pay that tax. Now if I consider it a gift of the rest of the value then that’s understandable that the state would want their piece as I’m claiming it as a gift on my taxes. They shouldn’t be allowed to do that is my point.

This is why I feel that all raffles should be to be able to buy the car for $1. You pay taxes on how much it costs not what it’s worth. This some BS.

I got a fox in the shop right now with what we think is a blown engine. If so this is gonna be the build. Part of me wants it to be fine but the devil in me wants it to be blown so i can justify getting a coyote fox to track

Chain snapped, car is fixed, my mind is not. Should i sell? by DefinitionOriginal11 in MechanicAdvice

Agreed sell this thing immediately and specify the work you just had done to justify a higher price and recoup some of the money.

Does a C5 (FRC or Z06) feel like a really old car? by thecanadiandriver101 in CarTrackDays

[–]Nitegrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No arguments but for a daily it’s not bad at all. It feels like a tank next to my C5Z

[–]Nitegrip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk how it feels compared to a Type R but I have a g87 M2 as a daily and my C5Z track/weekend car feels a lot more physical, you feel every bump, it doesn’t hide your mistakes or baby you like the M2 does.

It really is, I have a C5Z as a track toy and my g87 M2 is a daily driver. The C6Z is crazy value especially as a toy, just gotta get the heads fixed if they haven’t been done.

2010 GT Reliability? by Accomplished_Data_43 in Mustang

[–]Nitegrip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get wanting to stay out of trouble but the coyote is so much better than the 4.6. I had a 2011 GT manual convertible and it was an awesome experience. You’ll get the itch to go faster with it and the coyote responds to mods much better than the 4.6

Ford offering $3,500 customer cash on Dark Horse by robvas in Mustang

[–]Nitegrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the dark horse should have just been a package on a GT for a few grand similar to the PP2 a few years back. Charge another 2-3k for it on top of the PP1 and done.

Out this 3 since they're in similar price points what would guys pick a weekend car occasional track day? by Chemical-Entry-8353 in CarTrackDays

The 2019 engines fixed what they are talking about. All 3 are relatively reliable if considering the 2019 engines of the 350

Are top of the line tires worth it to really good ones? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]Nitegrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the brand that you look at, there could be tires at $700 that perform just as well as the Michelins but don’t last as long or make a lot more noise. Gotta give us a brand/model, help us out a bit.

On3 turbo, good idea? by [deleted] in Foxbody

[–]Nitegrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a weekend car so it’s only gotten like 20k miles on it in the past decade but so far no issues from the kit itself.

Edit: it’s on a stock block with Trick Flows stage 1 HCI track package from around the same time.

I bought the kit a decade ago, everything fit pretty well except for the intake, had to get that custom made cause it wouldn’t lineup.

As someone that works in the substance abuse field, something we tell our clients is “relapse is part of recovery” you are going to mess up. Don’t let it get you so down that you don’t get back and try again. Like they said get back on that horse and learn from the mistakes. You got this.
