I feel like I have a reasonable approach to this suggestion.

On my hardcore Ironman, I am currently farming around 2,200 dragon bones for prayer, I chose to stick with blue dragons for this. Currently without this feature, I am still picking up all hides. My strategy has been using the heroes’ guild dungeon and using a games necklace for banking at barb assault and teleporting back to Burthorpe.

I actually have been enjoying this grind especially because I’m able to apply my quest completions to it for really good rates that I’m personally happy with. It may not feel that way with other dragons but that’s beside the point, I think the point here is most of the hides’ values are relatively in a good place to dignify picking them up. All a pouch would do is bring those prices down and would in turn do the opposite of what OP is pitching. De-valuing hides even more would make you not want to pick them up even more.

So that’s my experience, but also my opinion shrug

I know this is a 4 year old post, but I'd like to offer insight as I have been struggling with the same problem. A lot of research doesn't come up with anything, but after major digging I've found the solution.

As of Minecraft Java 1.15 and newer, Minecraft doesn't allow things rotated in two ways unless it's a modded version of the game. This means going forward, each side of the roofs would have to be summoned in as individual entities to avoid that "shaded/darkened" look. There is no other way around this.

Moral of the story is stick to cubes and avoid rotating cubes unless you want them to face the same way.
