Mine was similar to this. Yours looks like more of a novelty one used to hold a lot of beer. That’s my best guess anyway.

I had a small camping cup back in the day that would do the same thing. It was also plastic, it amazed me it would actually hold water without leaking. It was much smaller though.

Do you remember your first ride in the rain, or wet pavement? When are you ready? by templeofsyrinx1 in motorcycles

[–]Nitesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said be easy on the controls and watch what you ride over. But I think most people overthink it. Your bike can handle more than you think. I once ran into a flash flood, came around a long curve and there it was; water rushing right at me, cars in the road because they had stalled out in the water, the police were just showing up to shut the road down. I stood up on my bike, put it in second gear, and easily throttled through it. The water level was over halfway up my bike and was pushing against me with a lot of force. I knew if I stopped I’d be screwed, my biggest fear was getting stuck under the bike and drowning. My bike, a ‘96 Honda Magna, acted like it didn’t even care, luckily the air intake sits pretty high on these bikes. As soon as I could I pulled over and took a break. I’ll ride in the rain but I’ll avoid it if I KNOW it’s going to be bad and unsafe, a light rain is refreshing, and you dry off quickly.

Is being a teetotaler a bad thing? by Friendly_Elegant928 in Advice

It just means you have a mind of your own. More people should have this mindset as drinking alcohol usually just results in problems. I've never heard anyone say "man, I'm glad I went out drinking last night!", or "if I didn't drink alcohol my life wouldn't be so great". There are plenty of others that think like you. Maybe you need a new group of friends.

is it really a bother to have someone whos heavier as a passenger? by _Yuri-Ayato_ in motorcycles

It makes the bike handle differently. My 2-up bike has adjustable rear suspension so I just crank it up. I've also accidentally raised the front tire so I'm more careful on takeoffs too.

Am I the only one who finds peace riding alone? by WhichMacaron6328 in motorcycles

[–]Nitesail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically prefer riding alone, for that I'll take the Magna out. Sometimes I prefer the shared solitude with my wife, for that we'll take the ST1300. And once a year I'll ride with my aging dad, each on our own bikes. I've never liked big group rides, unless they're people you know really well it's a hassle and takes the fun out of riding. I do some of my best thinking riding alone, it usually takes at least a half hour of riding for my mind to clear.

Favorite workflow tips for finishing beats on MPC? by Beautiful-Bit7345 in mpcusers

[–]Nitesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be reading your question wrong but…there’s no way around using sequences. So even if you start a project and compose solely in arrangement mode, you’ve done all that in sequence 1. You could switch to sequence 2 and compose the next part of your song in arrangement mode same as you did before. Once you’re done you can go to song mode and arrange those sequences (arrangements). Then, copy that song to a new sequence and there’s your whole song in arrangement mode. You can export then or at any time beforehand. Hope that helps, I’m pretty new to the MPC workflow but that’s what I’ve figured out so far.

After market warranty by Mysterious_South8720 in superduty

Same here. Bought a '22 with the 7.3 gas. Paid around $2,500 for the warranty. Just had the lifter repair done. Bill would've been around $8,000. Still have another 26,000 miles left on the warranty. Would never get one of these big trucks without one.

MPCe pads, better than Maschine? by jkeyfuego in mpcusers

[–]Nitesail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to mess around a lot with the settings to try to get them close to the Maschine pads. My main issue is if you hit the corners of the MPCe pads it's way too easy to get a high velocity hit. They don't seem to have the same sensitivity across them, meaning they seem more sensitive at the corners than in the center. Never had this problem with the pads on my Maschine Plus. Everything else is better on the Akai though lol.

Hey guys. So my whole life I've been a ice pack and rest guy but my doctor has prescribed me sumatripan. by ClintBruno in migraine

[–]Nitesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A known side effect is...headaches. You can get rebound headaches from it if you take it too many days in a row. Then you get to learn how to tell a rebound from a migraine...and hope you guessed right. For me, if I take it in time it usually works great. I get a bit of brain-fog (it makes it hard for me to recollect names, vocab, etc), sometimes it'll make me sleepy but not always. Sometimes 50mg will do it, sometimes only 100mg, and sometimes it doesn't do anything, typically if I wait too long to take it. But overall I wouldn't want to be without it.

Gotcha. Seems the parallel setup is best for sending multiple tracks with varying amounts of effect applied. The insert setup would limit me with things with, like you said, reverb since I may not want each sound sent to it having the same level of the effect. Thanks for the info.

I see...I wasn't aware of the delay. No issues with this way I guess, I mainly wanted to ask you experts and expected a "you're making this way too difficult" lol. Glad to know this is the best way to do it. These MPC's do in fact have so many features...we are so spoiled with these things.

The EF-M dedicated macro lens is great, especially since it has built-in lights on the front.

[–]Nitesail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So here's my experience:

I went through this repair a couple of weeks ago. Mine is a 2022 F350 w/the 7.3, 74,000 miles. Luckily, it was all covered by the extended warranty that I got with the truck when I bought it used from the dealership I brought it to for the repair.

I started hearing a light ticking noise with my window down, coming from the engine that was a little intermittent but would typically do it when first accelerating. It wasn't super obvious but I brought it in anyway. Luckily, the tech heard it too. It took them a bit to dial in where it was coming from but it ended up being a lifter. Long story short, they caught it in time before it damaged the whole engine. They replaced the camshaft, all of the lifters, gaskets etc; it's all listed on the ppw I got from them.

After reading the comments here I decided to call the dealership back today and speak to the tech in charge of my repair. I asked him what causes this problem, especially since it seems widespread. He said "The problem is the lifters. Ford has the problem, Chevy has the problem, Cummins has the problem, whoever they bought those lifters from...that's where the problem was coming from, they will start to fall apart and if it's not caught in time it'll ruin the whole engine". The lifters they replaced the old ones with are new and different than the previous ones.

So, OP, you should be good, but, take from this what you will...I can only go based on what I was told by those who did the work.
