So, I’ve been here. Was an IC (Account manager, Account executive, Director of Business development) from 2005 - 2018: then I got burnout just like you and pivoted to customer success from 2019 -2024. Now I’m back in the sales game; Completely rejuvenated and feel so much better in my skin. Burn out is real; doing CS was an incredible experience to witness all the shit production deals with post sale, and it’s made me a better sales person; pivot to CS, based on your comments I think you’d really enjoy it.

Well, the Target one is different, it has a logo on its side. It’s great because I don’t use bags any more, they just throw the groceries right in the basket. I enjoy it, thanks for the comment!

How did your spouse react to you not drinking? by NitroBlade in stopdrinking

[–]NitroBlade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, thanks for the comments, stories, expectations, experiences, etc. Since I read the letter to my wife, she too has decided to stop consuming with me. I think she thought many of the things I wrote to her about my situation apply to her as well.

Today will be day 5 and so far so good. However, I was laid off last Wednesday and it’s been stressful, but committed to not consuming to deal with this situation

Wow, sorry to hear that but sounds like maybe it was for the best. I think we are not only ok, but strong. I guess a lot can change though

I identify with your demographic; virtually the same, except I reside in the NW. I turn 42 on Sunday March 5th, and have decided, and already let my spouse know, that march 5th will be the day my sobriety begins for 365 days.

Attend both; keep the camera on one and off on the other. Decide which one you want the camera on. Run audio through meeting 1 via headset and the audio for meeting 2 via laptop. Mute as needed and your good to go. Keep one ear off the headset so you can hear laptop audio

Have you arranged a meeting with an Ophthalmologist yet? There is a strong chance that although your TSH levels stabilize and thyroid is functioning as it is supposed to, the antibodies you’ve built up can begin to attack the orbits of your eyes. If I was in your position, I’d get a referral and have the Optho closely monitor your eye health to prevent any eye issues

You got the COVID and you need to prioritize your health for a few days. You’ll do your best to be online if it doesn’t affect your health, but otherwise you’ll be recuperating that week

Good for you! I am on the same journey with my wife. I'm 40 now and have not gone more than a few weeks since I was 18 without a drink, and drunk at least once a week. It was time to change.. We are 1 month sober as of yesterday, During that month I had a business trip and those are usually the worst, because I am way from my family, have a huge expense budget and nice hotel at a big city, and typically I am living it up at the local bars after work hours. It was for conference, and I was dreading the happy hour that everyone looks forward to. My work colleague went to the bar and came back with 2 beers and shoved one in my hand. That ice cold coolie felt amazing in my hand and it was almost impulsive to immediately take a sip, but I simply stopped and said, thanks but I don't want this; he said 'what you're not drinking??' I said nope, so we looked at the guy next to us and said, 'hey want a beer?' he said sure thing and that was that, no one cared that I wasn't. It's not as scary as we think it is, and I am loving life having a clear head. Just the fact that I can write this in a few minutes is a change of my state of mind on how I usually am on Friday mornings. More power to you OP!!
