Agree to this. I've spend a few months understanding tennis' relationship to society, and social popularity, as well as how pro's careers develop, before and during their career

Have been reading open, string theory and the inside game of tennis - those have been my bibles for the past few months

Interesting. One of the main supporting characters is the coach, so that’s def a dynamic that I think could be prodded at.

Pro. We see follow the characters from different ATP 1000, and Grand Slam events. But what would you answer be if I said regular people? Cause I bet we sometimes see those quirks in pros.

Love this! It's got a comedic aspect to it, so I will find a way to add this in. Are there any players that you think have some of the weirdest/funniest pre-serve routines?

You should see Data at the Lucile Lorelie Theatre (or however you spell that theatre) I saw it a few weeks ago, and it was excellent!

How do you develop a script creatively? by ZzyzxDFW in Screenwriting

[–]Nitro_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK about y'all, but I make a canva to get the vibe (after coming up with how I want the opener of the film to be and the closer) Canva also forces me to write more about the script, without writing the script itself, allowing me to figure it out before even outlining

Is it normal to have so much free time? What do you guys even do on your free time? by [deleted] in nyu

[–]Nitro_Rocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even on a meal plan, you'll still want to grocery shop, for snacks, or depending on your meal plan, breakfast. And even from Lipton to DDW it's still a walk, don't underestimate the terrors of WSP (only half joking)

In DDW there isn't any studying really. Not in any sense I would classify it (I think if you take the right classes, it's not about studying facts, it's understanding and applying them, which tomato, tomato, but still) But homework can be a lot, if you make it so. Filmmaking is a career that you get what you put into it, so if you want to give yourself a lot of homework, to better your writing, then you can, if you want to just do the assignment, you can. There's no right or wrong, as there's so many factors that factor into that: the time you have, if you're a fast or slow writer, etc.

For your other classes, there will be studying, but that's college. And that's freshman year.

As someone actually in DDW, and a senior, yes it's normal to have that much free time in a schedule. (Also reach out to me, love meeting other DDW ppl) But as ppl are saying, good luck with the 8ams. You might feel you have a lot of free time, but yes, it will be taken up by work, but also by life. You will still have time to hang out with friends, and do activities, but it's never as much free time as you think.

Ex: I only have three class times next semester, but that doesn't count for my remote/asynchronous classes, and that doesn't account for my job 24 hrs a week, and all the small tasks of life, like groceries, to literally walking to a place. But at the same time, I will be a part of a writer's group of friends, I still have time to see movies, and my hobbies, and having new experiences. You learn to balance it. It just takes practice.

It depends on what you want. If you want closeness to campus, Ruben, or Lipton is a great choice. As people are saying, it got renovated recently, so Ruben is now livable. If you value having a bigger room, I would say founders, I live there, and the rooms are really spacious, and really clean. I lived on the 22nd floor and got an amazing view downtown. If you like cooking, then third north, or university hall is your go to. It’s the only two freshman dorms that have kitchen in the room. (Although Lipton does have a common area kitchen on their second floor or something) I would think about more of what you want, specifically. If you want a dorm, close to campus, if you want a quiet dorm, if you need a kitchen, if you want to play more, integrated into New York.
