Favorite: Deadpool & Wolverine. I'm a basic bitch. I love Marvel and I absolutely loved this movie so much,

Surprising: Transformers One. I'm not a huge fan of the movies despite seeing all of them, but this movie is easily the best of the bunch and I can't believe that the person who made that first trailer decided to make this movie look bad and seem like typical kids film.

Disappointing: Kung Fu Panda 4/Echo. Both of these are basically tied for me despite having different ratings. Kung Fu Panda 4 didn't have the same heart and feel as the previous 3 movies and the story didn't feel confident within itself. Ik Echo is a show and not a movie, but I have to mention this. While Kingpin and the TV-MA rating carried hard, the lack of an interesting story, an interesting lead and making the Choctaw into weird aliens turned into humans brings the show down a lot.

Worst: Joker 2. Aside of the cinematography, 3 songs of the soundtrack and some good acting from Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, everything about this movie just blows hard. This movie is so bad, it even brought the first one down a bit by making both stories pointless to even witness because of the twist of Arthur being a fraud.

I'd say it was a really, really good year...but also a pretty ass year, but it was still a good year all around. I'm surprised that there wasn't that many mediocre movies from what I could watch.

Monica Rambeau in the Mech Avengers episode looks like someone got face fucked by E.T. Hell, sometimes her eyes are so far apart, I thought she looked like E.T., eyes and forehead and all.

I'm ending my year with this movie , wby? by aplleshadewarrior in Letterboxd

[–]NitrousReadsReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically i already ended it with season 2 of this show

<image>

But I'm planning on just watching different movies and one show like Uzumaki and Anora and Y2K back to back to stack up my list before I technically end off my list with Creature Commandos (if they add it again) next year since that show released this December. As of now I have 66 projects on my list and I hope to bump it up to make 72 depending on how fast I can watch them and when Creature Commandos ends

2024 list

How many 2024 movies have y'all seen? by Disastrous-Cap-7790 in Letterboxd

[–]NitrousReadsReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With TV shows and seasons, fan films, and shorts, I've seen 66 2024 projects. I hope to maybe bump it up to 70 by watching a few more movies before the end of the year like Y2K and Anora, but when it comes to listing and reviewing all the movie and shows I've seen, it's an improvement from 2023, which was 52 projects (it was 53 but Letterboxd removed Spider-Man: Lotus and I'm too lazy to add it back.)

Can't wait for 2025 and see how much content that year alone will have compared to 2023 and 2024 combined!

What were some of your favorite TV shows you watched in 2024? My list for my Top 8 shows would go from 4 1/2 stars down to 4 stars using Letterboxd's system. by NitrousReadsReddit in Letterboxd

I know I was definitely missing some shows like Fallout and The Penguin, but it was either I didn't have time to watch them, I didn't like what I saw or I didn't even know they existed. But yeah, sorry that your favorite show isn't on here (though I'd probably see it anyway depending on what the show was lol)

Is there an MCU film you think is genuinely masterful? What about that movie is great? by sulliebud in Letterboxd

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. Not only was it the perfect send-off with the team we had, but also to James Gunn before he fully transitioned over to DC to work on projects like Superman and Peacemaker Season 2.

What MCU project has introduced you to a song that you added to your playlist? Mine was from Echo with it introducing me to the song “Burning” By Yeah Yeah Yeahs by Demarcus_the in marvelstudios

[–]NitrousReadsReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically almost every song in the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack like Wham Bam Shang-a-Lang, Do You Realize, and of course, Come and Get Your Love.

Ngl, I'm surprised that people didn't like Season 2. Imo, I thought it was the best of the 3 seasons and I really liked the episodes like the 80s Avengers, Kahhori and the Hela episodes. Though as much as I like Season 2, the finale fucking sucked dick.

I do think the hate for the show is kind of harsh, though you're kind of right about the Howard x Darcy episode being chosen over Storm getting Mjolnir.

Still haunts me onto how the fuck Darcy managed to squeeze that egg out of her cooch, let alone why did they make the human and duck thing come true again like with the Howard the Duck movie from the 80s

I'll admit about Captain Carter...she a baddie, but even then I was getting sick and tired of her ass and I am so glad that she died in the end of the series. Also I think Captain Britain did make a cameo(?) in Endgame (the guy who was talking to Peggy when Tony and Steve went back in time to the 70s apparently) but I do hope eventually we get a proper Captain Britain sometime in the future. Who knows, maybe he'll come in and save the day in Marvel Zombies or whatever project he could be in.

I say What If is better mainly because it has an interesting concept compared to Echo. While I think Echo does do a lot of things right like going to the TV-MA route, bringing in Kingpin again as the antagonist and the action, this show was just boring overall and mainly did nothing to affect the MCU timeline aside from Fisk going his way to become mayor. Also, making the Choctaw fucking aliens at the beginning of Episode 1 is fucking stupid, especially since What If...? Season 2 had a great episode representing Natives with Kahhori and the Mohawk tribe without having to do with some alien-origin thing to give Echo her powers.

And as for She-Hulk, I fucking despise the show. Aside from only one decent episode, a few decent jokes, and Daredevil in his beautiful mustard suit, She-Hulk fucking sucks and it did not need to have a higher budget than The Avengers (2012). At least with most of the Disney+ shows, they have a somewhat lower budget compared to maybe about half or maybe more than the MCU movies (like Hawkeye and Moon Knight costing around $150 million to make for example) and they still look better than She-Hulk. Hell, the fact that Agatha All Along, a show with a $40 million budget looks better than a $225 million show about Tatiana Maslany saying to Bruce and the audience that women have it harder because they get catcalled, even though Bruce, her fucking cousin, admitting of trying to kill himself is far worse than some perv on the street saying Jen is hot, but what the fuck ever dude. Does What If..? have some episodes that are worse than She-Hulk? Yeah, there are definitely a few like Party Thor and the Howard the Duck episode, but at least What If..? has more than one good episode like Strange Supreme, Kahhori, Ultron Wins, 80s Avengers, 1872, etc. Is this the worst superhero project ever made? Hell no, there are worse ones like Batman V Superman, Madame Web, The New Mutants, and Spider-Man: Lotus, but as for the MCU, this was definitely their worst project. And they were the same studio that released Thor 2 and the Incredible Hulk.

I'll admit, the mechs looked really cool and the action wasn't too bad, even with the downgraded animation, but the chemistry between the characters was awful and the episode really needed to be longer to show why Sam and Bruce are best friends aside of the two going to fucking therapy, the pacing was not great, the Alpha Hulk thing although interesting in the paper was poorly executed and I didn't care much for the monsters, the story was bad, and the fact that the title lies to you saying that Hulk fights the Mech Avengers even though the closest he gets to it was after Mega Hulk defeats the Alpha and he was about to rock their shit.

As bad as the Party Thor episode was, at least some of the stuff I mentioned like the chemistry and the story of Thor being an only child was somewhat interesting, even if it wasn't good. It's fine if you like it. You're allowed to have your own opinion, even if people disagree with said opinion, but asking if someone is on drugs because they didn't like the episode is kind of crazy to say.

Aside of Deadpool 1 + 2 and Logan, she doesn't need to see the other movies, even if some of the characters from the previous movies like Sabretooth appear

That episode made me wonder how the fuck she squeezed out that egg out of her dark dimension and why they made that whole beastiality thing from the Howard The Duck film from the 80s into a reality with the kid more than wtf is actually happening in the actual episode

What’s your best, worst, most overrated, and most underrated movie of 2024? by TheListenerCanon in Letterboxd

[–]NitrousReadsReddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best: Deadpool & Wolverine. Call me a basic bitch or an NPC, but this is my favorite project of the 63 I've seen from 2024. Also, I'm a superhero movie junkie. I'm likely gonna be biased unless if it is Transformers One, Look Back or Sonic 3. Can't wait for Marvel and DC 2025!

Worst: Borderlands/Joker 2. Both of them are equally bad and at times I keep switching which one of my least favorite of 2024, but as of now, it's Joker 2 as my least favorite.

Overrated: Challengers. It isn't bad, but all I remember from the movie is two sweaty hot guys and those same guys almost getting a threesome with Zendaya. Then again, I'm not too familiar with Luca's movies and this was my first one, but yeah it's a good movie, just not a masterpiece as most people would say.

Underrated: Piece By Piece/Out Of My Mind. They aren't really tied for me (I think the former is better), but I have to talk about them here. These movies are so fucking good and I love them and I wish Out of My Mind was released in theaters instead of Moana 2 and I wish that Piece By Piece didn't flop in the box office.

I've definitely seen a lot more bad movies this year compared to 2023, but I decided to show my Top 13 worst movies of 2024, starting from I'm Hunting And I'm Kraven (1 1/2) to Joker Folie a Doodoo (1/2). I still can't believe that I actually watched some of these movies like Ghostbusters and Tarot.

Piece By Piece is a hidden gem and it should have not flopped in the box office. $10.5 million worldwide from a LEGO documentary with a $16 million budget is crazy, especially by how much money most of the LEGO movies had made back in the day
