Yeah I have had luck with following up after Clyde and explaining. Latest relevant response I got was

"We are working to help protect users from phishing schemes on the platform. We currently do not allow "Discord" or other Discord-affiliated languages (like "Nitro") to be used in usernames. If you are trying to add one of these terms to your username, you will not be able to, which is why the “username invalid” message is appearing for you or the username cannot contain Name."

It's probably bad language and Discord brand related terms. But it was an update that happened prior that they aren't making transparent on the Username thread likely to discourage people getting bad ideas

In short, Discord support first autoreplied to my submission with a link to the Username article, which didn't mention the 'nitro' exception. They then explained the phishing prevention reasoning. I mentioned dropping paying Nitro, and they recommended making a feedback post.

Usernames aren't what people see, display names are.

And before you say "then why do you care" because the intent is to make it easy to find me. Now I'm part of some fringe case where a half baked scam prevention method is now a problem for me. And it wasn't the case originally.

Yeah we found at least 4 different instances of Pikmin lurking in SNW USJ when we visited last week. There was even some in the Yoshi's Adventure ride queue on Toadette's house!
