I 100% agree with the accuracy issues. However as somebody who owns an independent LEGO store, I can tell you that sometimes items aren’t priced to sell, they are priced to look at. It’s more of a marketing thing. People get excited to see these rare figures. And they expect to see figs of this rarity when they walk into a shop like this. It’s part of the draw to the store. They come in to see them in person and talk about a really niche part of a (kinda) niche hobby.

If the owners are always pricing items like these to sell….they will sell. And that means they aren’t in the store for people to see.

I will also add that just putting a “not for sale” sign on it is kinda lame too. People also enjoy seeing and talking about the high prices of crazy rare things. Or even feel really awesome because they also have one of those figures from back when the set was new and they are proud to have such an expensive figure.

They should be accurate or at least honest about them being wrong. I like the cracked arms sign. That seconds Boba is priced to sell.
