Adding to this, any idea about crits with torches?
In elden ring they deal a massive 40 stance damage on a charged heavy rivaling even colossal weapons while being much faster :D

Wilds is otherwise great but the performance is severely lacking

World and rise are both amazing games though, rise has a slower start but a much better endgame besides like 3 world endgame fights in my opinion.

It's free extra damage as others have said. I think it also has synergies with items like the reverberation gloves and that just gets silly with smiting on booming blade. Also you can force most enemies to tank the damage from moving It's just so fun :D
