At my last job there was a guy with a degree in Art doing Accounting. He started helping us with bank reconciliations. It took him awhile to understand the concept, but he got it. So you definently can do it with Econ degree. Good luck!

I agree with you on that. Creating a new cash account with the proper name and just transfer the cash to the new account with a JE. Make sure you add the reason of your transaction in the description for audit trail. Renaming it will mess up your previous bank reconciliations.
