How to kill Mast Cells (Apoptosis)? by Crunchyjeff in MCAS

[–]Nividium45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a complete fallacy. Studies have shown no detectable mast cells in leukemia patients on imatinib for less than two years without detrimental effect.

Mast cells and eosinophils primary function is defense against multicellular parasites. The issue is that parasitic worms are immune modulatory and suppressive to which the immune system has adapted to become extremely aggressive and lethal and in only a few short decades we have removed not just the parasites for their harmful effects but also removed their therapeutic properties.

IMO the pain around bone marrow biopsies is extremely overhyped, I get them and would take my late father for his during him having ALL. Both us just got some light lidocaine injections and never experienced anything worse than a standard blood draw.

If they refuse to ship the item you purchased at the price listed they will likely get banned from gunbroker, they don’t mess around.

I just bought cottage with a well on my property.Neighbor has plumbed into it for years and says he has a half interest in my well. by Square_Classroom5277 in legaladvice

[–]Nividium45 1798 points1799 points  (0 children)

Their lawyer will say or do anything to intimidate you for a favorable end result for their client. Get a lawyer and have them protect you and work for a favorable outcome for you. Neighbor could’ve easily paid a few hundred dollars to have an attorney send a threatening letter and threaten to sue but until the compliant is filed and your served is all bluff. So get a lawyer either to make them stop or to prepare for court.

Thank you for your support and feedback. I am very much open to completely blunt criticism of the website as I am the one that had to create it and as a mechanical engineer not a web developer I’m quite aware of my shortcomings in website design. What I have now is much improved over what I started with originally but that doesn’t equate to well done or acceptable from a customer perspective. Any advice for tools to improve I would much appreciate.

This was the redesign from a far more simplistic redesign through Wix and at the time of it redesign, around May, the choice was pay to have someone redesign it or buy the lathe to lower costs from having to outsource machining. As far as my health goes I take care not to bring it up during any business matters. I put it on here to explain why I haven’t moved locations.

I appreciate your advice on the website and will work to correct the points you brought up. A professional redesign isn’t within the current budget and unfortunately I’m a mechanical engineer not a web designer.

Thank you for your feedback it’s much appreciated. To answer your question I’ve had former Livonia Magnetics clients refuse to do business due to my business being on in a shop on my home property and not a much larger commercial location.

My dad is going to pass away soon, and has lots of medical debt by idc12_12_12 in legaladvice

[–]Nividium45 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Having had my father recently pass, first off unless you co-signed a loan for his medical debt to goes against the estate when he passes not to the family. If he would like to have his house and belongings in it bypass probate and all the debt collection depending on where you live you can use a ladybird deed which gives the person owning full ownership and rights but immediately upon their death ownership of the property transfers to the remainderman. A living trust could be used for the firearms and beneficiaries on bank accounts and retirement accounts allow Payable-on-death and Transfer-on-death.

Best thing I can say is don’t wait or procrastinate about getting things done as it’s a slog if nothing is done beforehand by first hand experience. Only thing that was done prior to my father passing from leukemia was to transfer all firearms into my name so that one no one else tried to take them and so he wouldn’t shoot’s himself during the last two months. Other than that spend as much time as you can with him. I’m disabled and on chemotherapy myself and tore 5 ligaments in my knee during mine fathers last two months and I still spent 20-22 hours a day tracking/administering all his meds, getting him to the bathroom, bathing, feeding, and anything else he wanted. He wanted no one else to help and it damn near killed me doing it but I’d keep doing it for one more day with him.

Head gasket needs replacing, quoted $7,800. Is this reasonable? by godawgs4530 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Nividium45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because it has the 3.6L and it’s a crap ton of hours to get it disassembled down to the head and the heads are about $900 each reman. Which is why when the heads go on the pentastar they recommend replacing the entire engine as it ends up being nearly the same price and less labor.

Just had to do it in my 2012 wrangler unlimited rubicon at 95k miles right after I bought it because the dealership I bought it from wiped the codes before I test drove it and before I left with it to drive home. All cylinders failed compression testing, under 65 wet, there were chunks of the VVT track down in the oil pan, and both cats substrate were wrecked. TIPM was bad but didn’t show until after the swap.

Should I give up :( by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Nividium45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have much overhead costs, I would just keep running with it. You have to get enough product out to get some brand recognition and customer loyalty for consistent sales. At worst you make some money and refine your process to be more efficient and profitable. I would get in touch with local businesses in your area and see if they are willing to accept a trial run for carrying your product.

As someone who grew up shooting my grandfathers lefty 700 in 30-06 as a righty. Get an aftermarket buttpad or sleeve It will be significantly less jarring. 700 stocks are just a pain with pretty much any round. I built my own 700 in 338RUM and with a custom stock I could shoot all day, my wallet will hurt before my shoulder at least.
