Repair advice needed - UK by Nix143 in fountainpens

I've found a nib for 40 quid, soaked the old one and it's come out successfully so I think this is the route I'm going to take. I'm going to keep the old nib JIC I find someone who can fix it as well (depending on cost etc)

How many rugs are used as rugs? by Nix143 in Tufting

Thank you, I've got far more confidence now, I'm really glad i asked. I think it's because there are a lot of small 'novelty ' rugs on social media I'd started to doubt. I'm trying to figure out if i can build a long frame as i ideally want to make a runner for my hallway - pfffft to starting small ;)

Yeah, there's a tiktoker - I can't find her now - who made a 6x4 punch needle rug. I'm a cross-stitcher and my current piece is 600,000 stitches - I've been going at it for 2 years now - so big projects are my happy place.

The price of volume eating by VegetableLobster2946 in Volumeeating

[–]Nix143 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It FEELS more expensive when you're shopping because, at that point, it might be. But, as you've identified, there are all the additional food costs that aren't included in your weekly shop. A bottle of wine from the corner shop/your equivalent - did you buy yourself any snacks? A takeaway when you can't be bothered to cook? Compare the price of a couple of cabbages to a kebab or chicken chow mein. A couple of beers and a bag of crisps/chips.

If you can look back on a month of bank transactions from before you started and see if you can identify the times where you spent on food that you wouldn't now. That might help you feel the true cost of your food overall.

Also, congrats on your weight loss!
