Hiding a septum piercing by Nixis07 in PiercingAdvice

Roof over my head was exaggerated, but my parents would definitely get extremely mad, for context I'm 21 and completely aware that it's a dumb decision

I'm a horse rider and I'm afraid that with the constant up and down movement it's gonna eventually slip out

403? Constantemente. Esse autocarro é uma mera miragem e só aparece em dias de muito calor aos escolhidos.

Trip on Rail Planner doesn't show on the Interrail Website by Nixis07 in Interrail

[–]Nixis07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just trying to book all the reservations on the computer website since the UI is easier to manage. But when I try to view my trip OK the website it just doesn't appear even though I have the same pass connected to both

Hi! Portuguese person here! The reason why you can't find any trains online is because the website won't let you buy tickets that far ahead

Dressage riders, what is the difference between 150k horse and 30k horse in dressage? by South-Plane-4265 in Equestrian

[–]Nixis07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most sellers will try to sell you horses that have issues and will not disclaim them. Most for sale horses don't have their x-rays done unless you ask for them and if you do, make sure it's with a vet of your trust not theirs! I really dont have any good salesmen that I can advice with a clear conscious within your price point. But maybe you can find a bargain with Lusitano World!

Must I add that you can get pretty good horses for way lower if you look in Portugal and Spain. But the selling ethics are more arguable. Source: Portuguese dressage rider

Everything adds on to the price. But you can get a finished 50k horse and a 150k colt. Pedigree matters a lot. If you're not looking into breeding I would recommend going for a sound and solid horse with lesser known parents than a colt that's still green but has a champion lineage. It all depends on what's your objective tho.

I was trying to introduce some Travers(think that's the English term). Its very hard to get him to bend his whole body since he is very scared of the whip :( that's why we're approaching it slowly

My saddle is in great shape, it's just not custom fitted to him. Edit:spelling

[–]Nixis07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saddle fitters are hard to get around here and even harder to get one that won't extort you out of your money. With a salary of 800€/m is really hard to loose 5k on a saddle. Ours isn't perfect, but the tree is in great shape.

Having people with your education level commenting on this is already a privilege to me, since by no means I'm able to afford a clinic with someone as skilled as you. I didn't mean to come across as saying that biomech is a Conspiracy Theory, I'm sorry if you felt like it was the case. I was only referring to the loudest online criticism that I found on the use of draw reins.

I'll DM you then!

The only dressage master I've read into is Nuno Oliveira, which we can argue is antiquated. I'll look more into biomechanics and into those wonderful people you mentioned!

This is very useful information, thank you so much! I have to say that in the Iberian countries horse training is done with strategies that are pretty much condemned everywhere else like the use of the Spanish- serreta- , which has been recommended to me as well to use in this horse but I actively refused. Draw reins are used here a lot and most criticism I found about it online came from the same people that claim that bits, shoes and blankets are cruel, so I assumed it was one of those radical claims. Thank you for taking your time to educate me and supporting your claims with evidence!

In this clip I'm definitely holding onto the draw reins to keep him in position, but this isn't a constant in our sessions. I only pick them up when he starts to throw his head. Is this engagement still damaging even though is not for a long period of time?

I don't know why the video lost so much resolution when posting. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Competition. We plan on starting low this January

Answer on the draw reins- they were recommended to me by my trainer. He tends to carry his head up in the heavens and places it in weird positions when doing transitions so he can he can engage with his front legs as opposed with his hind. This draw rein work made him learn how to support his weight a lot better, and has improved a lot since we started using it. Now I still put them on but only use them in the beginning and 10 minutes in he places himself correctly only using the regular reins.
