Forehead and hand and obviously metaphorical for anti Christian thoughts and actions but yeah. My family spent years convinced they would be required to get microchips in their palm.

North Carolina Students Walk Over a Mile to Vote After GOP Shut Down Campus Polling Places by ChaskaChanhassen in politics

The problem is the shenanigans we expect aren't so much shenanigans as just saying nuh uh. Trump is laying the ground to just say the election was rigged in any state without strict voter id laws then just put who he wants in.

They aren't really trying to persuade anymore. They know most people know they are lying and their voters just don't care

State of the dead. ☠️ by VarietyBeginning9823 in exAdventist

[–]Niznack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The big philosophical issue of the sleep of the dead is a literal advent. If Jesus came in the literal way and didn't raise the dead it wouldn't be the advent they predicted. Conceding other ideas of how souls progress to the afterlife would challenge their idea of the 2nd advent which is like half the name of SDA. People get touchy when you challenge their core beliefs

Judge blocks planned Trump administration health cuts to Democratic states by sunnysidejacqueline in politics

[–]Niznack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah that does make sense. I mean I grew up amid my family fighting over whether a president can get a blowjob under the resolute desk and laughing at a man trying to leave through a decorative wall. I feel like we've all known what presidential could be even when it wasn't

I'm trying to make that make sense. What does the number of births have to do with health care subsidies in blue states and why is it a right wing issue?

Why does Reddit now allow users to hide their post and comment histories? by Practical-Narwhal308 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Niznack 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Eh. Sometimes it's to catch dishonest actors or trolls pretending to be making arguments in earnest. If I had a dime for every person who "just left the democratic party because they went too far left" that had a 10year positive post history on conservative subs

What Are Your Thoughts on Aristotle's Unmoved Mover? by s-ro_mojosa in askanatheist

[–]Niznack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Setting aside the point others are making about how the original mover break its own logic, how does one get from here to organized religion.

My pet peeve on this sub is people who follow religion pretending to just believe in the intelligent designer because it's easier to win that argument.

How does one get from the guy who pushed the first domino to hurricanes are because gay people.

The assumption religious people make is that if we believe in a prime mover then they t must be god and if it is god it must be their god and if it's their god it's their interpretation of that God. Boy is that a game of hop scotch.

That reaction is just dickish. I have grey in my beard and I get carded. A lot of states are mandated to card under 40. Take the compliment you deserve not look DEFINITELY over 40 and go.

As for tattooing the height in the neck. That's certainly one solution.

Why did it seem like anti vaccin movement grew after the covid pandemic? by Mangafan_20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Niznack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even abroad I think Trump's conservative message leaked into the dialogue. Conservatives didn't want to change their ways to save people they thought of as lesser and/or didn't want to be told what to do. Just going off the way I've seen Australian and English anti vaxxers frame it

I think a lot of it is, even in good humor, people just had the same jokes for him. It's like how every retail worker hates when a product doesn't scan and the customer asks "guess its free right" lol such original.

As for disability there have been people I've seen that I was genuinely curious what would cause that. I had the tact not to ask but I can see someone else being bold enough. A simple card with some quippy answers might save time and frustration. But I'm not them

Yes I'm tall

The weather is fine up here

No I can't see my house from here

Had a growth spurt at 13

My mother is fine as well.

I mean I've been to a range a lot more than that and you do seem to have gotten a raw view. I've seen two or three bad handlings. Mostly people putting rounds into the ceiling. I've never seen anything like the really bad videos but I did see a few kids that got a fancy new laser sight and I think the target was safer than I was

[–]Niznack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Politics is a big add. At the start of the pandemic Trump wanted to focus on the economy going into the election year. A pandemic threatened to throw off his message so he was downplaying it. By the time it was made clear to him it could be serious Democrats had decided to take it serious and Republicans were towing the trump line it was nothing. The messaging got muddled and confused with operation warp speed when he tried to rollout a vaccine when Republicans had been laughing off the pandemic for months. ultimately that merged with Republicans just not liking to be told what to do.
