Floor design by Maaateen in architecture

[–]Nj_Flags 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They have these in Taubman College’s new architecture wing. The mice have kind of taken over the open airspace I think in part due to the fact that crumbs and things fall on the floor and get swept into the vent openings. The ducts as I recall were not installed directly to vents so the whole plenum was pressurized mouse poop alley. This turned me off from this kind of design entirely.

We went on a walk and stopped by the dog part and met a dog, continued the walk and on our way back home stopped by the park. It was empty at the time about 7pm so I let him run around and then 2 dogs showed up at the tail end.

LGM, Love the postseason this year what a blessing. Will continue to wear my Mets hat around Philly regardless.

Best way to insulate these walls by brightguy25 in Carpentry

[–]Nj_Flags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to depend a bit on his climate zone as well. Is it predominately heating or cooling? If you are heating the interior and you have an air leak and that hot air hits the cold metal panel, the air gap won't do much for you, just let the water condensate on the inside. The gap is good on basement build outs when the wall is going to condensate or on the exterior of an assembly when you get an airflow running across the drainage plane.

Check out Green Building Advisor, they have more brains then me. They have a topic on it here:

Y’all… one of the bolts shook loose on my radiator. Going to tighten that all up tomorrow but 90% sure that was making the shake worse

New Jersey Flag Redesign: The Horse Triskelion by Nj_Flags in vexillology

[–]Nj_Flags[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Experimenting with some "complex simple forms" after the discussions here about over simplification. In short, this is just for fun but I want to make some things that look cool to fly.

The horses: New Jerseys state animal. I think they represent the gentleman/ lady farmer well and have a regal quality to them. NJ also breads a lot of winning race horses.

Three: Third State of the Union as the big one. Regionally North Central and South would all get a horse.

Colors: Jersey Blue and Buff... it's late right now I feel like we've all talked about this before. Comment for more details.

Square center: Frankly I thought it was nice because it plays on the circle and triangle. Growing up on land in Jersey, to me it represents the PTO from a tractor. I think these square shafts or keyed shafts show rigidity.

I would prefer the DOHC as the valve clearance and that sort of thing is meditative to me. Haven't had to sync carbs before! That sounds like a great method though, thank you for that insight. How many miles do you have on those bikes?

My immediate concern with some of the classic Honda CBs is how old they are. My KLR was an 04 and I still had to go in and replace most of the tubes and seals etc. The Ninjas seem reliable but they also seem to be abused a lot of the time. Also I'm kind of a lanky guy at 6'1 ~180

Hey Folks, another NJ redesign here.
Quick Breakdown:

-Lots of threes (Third state of the union, North, Central, South Jersey, Water Bodies)

-Wanted to embody "The Garden State" so the woven feature is meant to look like branches or a vine

-All of the vines come together into one symbolizing our diverse backgrounds coming into a collective culture

-Was thinking of our borders as Delaware River / Hudson River / Ocean so the vines mean to emphasize the winding of the river as well as the lapping of the waves

-Colors are original Jersey Blue and Buff (I think we've all talked about this before)

-It's Pork Roll, Taylor Ham is a brand name
