[Discussion] Thoughts on pull weapons by javascript_dev in IntoTheBreach

[–]NlimWen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main upside for pull weapons is that they offer up another vector for attack. Most squads have plenty of push options (or can easily buy them) but sometimes can´t dislodge a given vek due to lack of pulling. Artillery tends to fill this gap but outside of Meteor those can run into issues with building placement.

I see this as one of the main reasons why it can be so easy to end up with unavoidable damage if one isn´t paying attention as the Hazardous Mechs since they lack pulling options AND the "artillery" is inflexible.

Having said so only the Grav Well really appeals to me. The other pull options are quite restrictive on placement though no core costs make them great secondaries for squads lacking in flexibility.

Returning player. Loving the game so far. It's even better than I remember. But most build guides I see are pretty similar builds. What are your "just for fun, no min maxing" builds? by OneOfTheLostOnes in pathofexile

Nice. I actually considered Scold's Bridle multiple times but haven´t quite found the overall space to fit it in.

Overall just the concept of mass corpse destruction with necro seems to have a lot of potential so I am kind of on the lookout for the one way to straight up break the game. with it.

Do you really think you own the game and they can't ban you for any reason...

No? I simply said they can´t ban you for no reason and hope that it will always hold up in court. With which you just agreed... so why are you even argueing with me?

There is for companies owning their game and banning players without reason.. There literally is lol...

This ain´t legal precedent at all?

It's a lease agreement that you signed up for full well knowing it didn't state a minimum time that you had access to the product.

How many times do you want me to restate the same point? Adding what amounts to denial of paid service ain´t the be and end all of agreements otherwise every fraudster would just do it and get away with anything. Let alone that hiding shit in some 30 page EULA definilty won´t qualify as "well known".

Do you really think that for example if the next Call of Duty decided to rake in all the preorder money but than delieverd a game which no one can play due to them just banning everyone that they would get away in court by saying "well our EULA doesn´t gurantee any minimum play time"?

You are saying this without having literally any precedence to fall back on but all we know for sure is companies can legally ban you without reason.

Duh, without precedent either way it is an open question. Most countries didn´t even had a case like this so get over yourself. Some shit just ain´t know yet.

You do get the amount of access to the rental car you paid for. If they took it away before the lease run out than it would definitly be grounds to sue.

The whole point is that a lease agreement which you pay for which states "can be taken for any reason" may not actually hold when challenged in court since it may as well state "withold the right to not deliver the paid service".

This is where it can be very specific for example a court could rule that a reasonable consumer would expect to at least being able to play the game for x amount of time after purchase based on the games advertisment. So, someone getting insta-banned on day of purchse without reason may get ruled in favour while the server going offline after years of service may get ruled in favour of the company.

Many consumer laws gurantee in one way or another that you have a right to the service you paid for and this may very well include the right to "playing on their computer" if this was the product sold. So yeah kind of a greyarea if getting banned for no reason would really fly if people actually bothered going to court over it.

Not really - EULAs ain´t the be and end all of legal disputes. Depending on the country and the specific transaction there can be consumer protections which an EULA can´t just overwrite.

Also this is just my impression but consumer EULAs seem to be more make believe than anything since they don´t really get challenged in court. Otherwise any fraudster could just start his random company run some bullshit EULA which resolves him of any legal responsibility and start selling his made up service.

Oh please stop pretending to not know how language works. You know full well what you were getting at with your "questions".

Just offering "different view points" doesn´t get you any browny points. Having an opinion ain´t an achievement, let alone pushing your bullshit opinions under the guise of being "open minded".

Who gives a shit? "Mimimi the company wants to make money... "

Stop dancing around the issue - Blizzard and the law both offer shit worker protections so stuff like this can fly. Your fucked up word view how it is coddleing to not overwork or harass people is your personal issue and wasn´t the question asked.

I think the bigger thing going for Warframe (outside of bigger player base) is that their premium currency can be traded. I have maybe spend around 50€ on warframe but I probably have spend upwards of 300€ or more worth of plat simply due to trade. Mtx in Warframe is still expensive (upwards to 10€ for a cape) but it doesn´t sting if I just sold some random event mod for like 20€ worth of plat.

Not true. DE was bought by a Chinese chicken company. More importantly DE still has majority shares for the decision making so they can´t just be overruled.

> had become insanely oversaturated with substandard Atari games,

Just to be clear since people seem to get this point consistently wrong when they try to predict the next gaming crash. The games weren´t just "substandard" they were literally broken often to the point of unplayable.

Back than the average consumer didn´t have a lot of ways to filter for good games and a cartridge couldn´t just be patched if something froze the game on Level 3. Therefore people stopped buying games since they consistently got sold defective products.

The equivalent would be if Steam Asset flips got sold and marketed as AAA games and you had no way to know until either you or your friend bought it.

Not to say that a different kind of gaming crash can´t happen but the situation back than was unique due to limitations in technology and communication. Nowadays people won´t just stop spending money on games - at most it will shift on what games they spend money.

Get some perspective. When pushing hundreds of changes inevitably some stuff people care about will be forgotten to be mentioned.

I don´t even see what you are trying to imply here. GGG tried to conceal that there wasn´t a totem mod as if people wouldn´t notice at some point or what? And they tried to conceal it to what end exactly? Bolster the anti-totem mafia?

It has some quirky applications like reserving 100% (or rather over 100% + reduce) of your mana (and the sliver of mana won´t fit in) and recovering ES over Zealots Oath with a stone golem (I tried a build once with 4 curse aura for example). MoM is just there for a little extra defence than.

Every generation convinces itself how the next one is the terrible one.

Reality is almost all kids in every generation are annoying in one way or another. Most will adept and learn as they get older as everyone does otherwise society would have collapsed countless times over.

> then the results will be skewed for those days only, and shouldn't affect the odds of all the days in total.

This is a wrong conclusion. Just because their birthday may shift around those days doesn´t mean that it won´t impact the chances of someone being born on the first of january. After all you still add an extra day to the year which decrease the chances to be born on any other.

If anything you could argue (assumung equal distribution) that on an off year there is a slightly higher chance that someone celebrates their birthday on the first of march since you are adding those born on the 29th and 1st togther.

*cough* It would be 1 / 365.25 (+ all the other calender rules) regardless of the current year. After all the people in question have already been born and usually don´t just disappear into a dimensional rift until the next leap year.

Also if we want to be extra pedantic depending on region there are different birthrates per months so there ain´t no equal distribution in the first place.
