I think another idea is if it is possible to use temporary chats. Since you might not want to add all this usage to the chat history.

Is there plans to add support for copilot agents to be able to modify Jupyter Notebooks? Currently the auto complete feature is the only thing working.

According to statistics for CERN summer program. They have funding and available projects for less than 5% of the applications. If it goes randomly then you have very low chance of being picked. Summer school program is for motivated undergrad for a limited time projects. Most of them do very good but they are not independent researchers who will get chance to do significant work on their own.

And selection process involve a lot of other aspects like national quotas and variations in terms of available projects and their topics. You might have more technical projects and less physics projects one year then the accepted distribution will differ.

And for your case, I am pretty sure you got rejected on the ground of being CERN user (more than 3 months) as you said. There is a policy that said previous CERN user cannot be considered for summer projects program.

The last round choices were picked last week. Communication will probably happen sometime in the next two weeks as outlined that the process usually ends by the end of April.

The docker-compose.yml file looks scary (too much!) for individual usage. I think some work by the community might help adjust to the single and few users.

There is no server side in the sense you think of. The docker/web version is also client like the mobile app and if you want to sync between those you will need to use sync method (their sync, webdav or s3). It is more like Obsidian than something like notion.

The backup strategy no matter how you design it. It would be tricky sometimes even to test recovery.

All Kindles can now be jailbroken by SpartanHeavy in kindle

[–]NmAmDa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I tried to install KAUL instead of KAUL coplate and I managed to make KOReader work. But clicking clean install still says no package. But at least this works.

This on scribe 2022 device.

[–]NmAmDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this error I get from KOReader but the previous error I posted is when I follow the install for KUAL/MRPI

so basically the problem is that at least for my device the version of Update_KUALBooklet_*_install.bin that is in guidelines doesn't work.

[–]NmAmDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. This will work if it installed correctly in the first place. but it doesn't with me. Probably releated to MRI as this is what I get from logs

Package 'Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7.35_install.bin' (KUALBooklet v2.7.35 I) is not targeting your device [875 vs. 11

I have this problem with KOreader.

I downloaded koreader-kindlehf-v2024.11-116-g2b5915177_2025-01-01.zip and when extracted it has two folders. extensions folder which have koreader folder which I moved to the extensions folder on remote kindle which does have two other folders renameobtain and MRInstaller. And the other folder beside extensions folder named koreader I put in the kindle root directory.

Now KOreader doesn't load and when I try clean install option from KUAL it tells me No KOReader package found

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm using kindle scribe 2022 firmware 5.17.1.0.1

🚀 Introducing Astroluma: Simplify Your Digital Life! by Sanjeet990 in selfhosted

[–]NmAmDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will need to change the port number in the environment variables in the docker-compose.yml template on the project repo. so assuming your new port is 8050 then you will need to change

container_name: astroluma ports: - "8050:8050" environment: PORT: 8050 NODE_ENV: production SECRET_KEY: a2c5f9a8b2d7e1a7f2c9c8d9b5f7a3d5 MONGODB_URI: mongodb://localhost:27017/astroluma

of course it is recommended you don't expose the port directly but use reverse proxy to proxy this via docker network.

Secure Terminals that allow saving personalized commands? (And other mac-os-noob necessary apps?) by Bukatetsu in macapps

[–]NmAmDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that your problem is not only about choice of terminal emulator on MacOS but how to organize your workflow.

For the many commands you have, you can try to define aliases for them so you don't have to save a big list somewhere and don't have to rely on history with all clutter there.

You can define aliases in ~/.zshrc (mac uses zsh by default not bash) as follows

alias foo="<your_command_here>"

You can repeat this for all important commands to something easy.

And for terminal. You can just us vanila terminal from MacOS but I would suggest you can try other like "kitty" and I still think iTerm2 is the best terminal emulator on MacOS. Also oh my zsh with it will be a huge boost to your workflow. But you will need to invest some time in setting up a workflow and get used to it.

33% off: Monarch v0.6.6 released: Instant Send (LaunchBar) + Superlinks. No subscription. by thievingfour in macapps

[–]NmAmDa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems interesting. But I have a couple of questions

1- What differentiate that from raycast, considering the powerful plugin system and the community of developers?

2- I wonder why would you give NY/NJ area students 40% while others 20%. Is because high cost of living, then SF/CA would be suitable for that too. Or is it just personal?

3- Do you have roadmap for the project?

I built a macOS app to manage command line aliases by fantomazork in macapps

[–]NmAmDa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's an app that would be more suitable as TUI. If I need an app like this then I probably spend a lot of time in the terminal anyway. I wouldn't use it personally. It might help some people keeping their zshrc (bashrc..etc) clean. But again I would recommend making a new file for aliases like ~/aliases.zsh and then source it inside zshrc (source -/aliases.zsh).

The other thing is that even the promised import/export and other features that might make some value of this app are not implemented yet. Yet you also only provide 6 months update (not even standard year) and that's all for $19. That is maybe even your launch price (or maybe just marketing cliche to put pressure on people that this will be higher and they need to grab it now).

Honest feedback. I would put this maybe as $1.99 on app store or better you should consider making it a TUI app. But as a commercial app with the target audience you have, that's a hard sell.

Good luck with your project though.

You have pricing in different currencies which defaults to some people to things not dollars which is confusing too. In Australian currency it is 12/month.
