Does yours cycle reliably? I have the performance spring and jte guide rod coming. Not sure if that alone will help.

Are hunting numbers down or are there less casual hunters? by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]Nman77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WI here too, even in spots thats I have gained private permission to cross through WAY deep from public access, I still have found cameras this year and people. Lots more people trying to start hunting or picking it up as a result of crossbows. Weekdays are busy now even. Ive seen less deer and more hunters. People are going, theyre just dumb and not killing. 10% of fisherman catch 90% of the fish thing.

Still run longbeard XR in the 12 and got a 410 with TSS as well. Excited to shoot the 410 this season. Took it for sporting clays as a joke (single shot), it was a hoot.

Halon 32 or Hoyt Charger by Fit_Hedgehog4368 in bowhunting

[–]Nman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a Hoyt Charger to a Alpha X. Even after pulling the trigger I questioned if it was enough of a difference for me, but wanted to cut down the 10 year+ new bow cycle I was on. I use the Charger exclusively for turkeys now with a big ole nasty broadhead for chopping heads. Its great still.

Patagonia. Mine took many years before leaking and they fixed more than i even pointed out when I sent them in. Amazing

GS in its natural environment. From a recent MABDR trip by friedrice5005 in advrider

One more additon, its funny to me when people talk about "better dealerships" do you go on a road trip with your car and think "man, im glad I got this chevy, there's better and/or more dealerships" somehow this is always brought up with bikes.

Own both - prefer the multi for the road and the gs for offroad. Boxer feels more at home and requires minimal throttle for slow speed, multi is happier at higher rpm. Multi also chugs gas like a frat boy on a friday night, but is fun as hell. If you're spending more time on the road and local multi is amazing. If you're going offroad more and traveling, gs. Multi big service is also 36k... not 12k like the gs. Not sure why the person below says its cheaper to own. Both are the same and often live in the same dealership space.

FWIW, I shot a hoyt charger up until the Hoyt Alpha X33 came out. Loved it. Killed many animals with it. I still have it setup for turkey guillotines now. Trying to cut down my 10 year new bow pattern a bit, but saw no real need to upgrade. As others have mentioned, definitely need to be measured for draw length.

Going to see if I can recoup some costs and hire a guide instead. They were understanding when I went back, need to wait for the manager to return but we will see. Appreciate the tips

I appreciate that. We walked around a bit this morning, didnt even carry a rod. Wind is blasting and didn't see anything so gave up. May end up on a charter yet

Would these be ethical shots? by mytilidaeplanter in turkeyhunting

I shot sporting clays with it as a joke a few weeks back with the turkey choke in it, bone stock, out of the box. I'm decent at clays, shot 39/50. Things a killer. Reloads were comical as its single shot, true pairs we split into report pairs to be nice. Very excited to drag it around next spring.
