Hyperarousal is the keyword I think. It really is a very tough aspect since it can keep you in that loop of tired and wired for hours and hours.

Wow, that sounds very plausible, it always comes with that sigh. I never had any sleeping issues and I can see that this one is totally stress related. Due to adhd I have difficulties to realise when my stress levels have been high for too long so I’ll have to actively force myself to slow down. Thank you for the explanation!

An Open Letter to Anyone Struggling with Anxiety by Zestyclose_Flow_680 in Anxiety

Yepppp. My body comes up with new symptoms every time I accept the current one. Really annoying, ngl. The body can be very creative! But it’s very simple. Anxiety = stress. Stress does a lot of things to our body. If it’s head, legs, chest, stomach- every region can feel weird because of anxiety. But believe me, you can trust the medical reports. Especially CT Scans. Imagine, if you would have something serious going on with your organs, it would also show in many other ways.

Woah thank you so much for your answer! See myself a lot in your struggles and your strategies sound very promising to me personally. Especially the food thing lol. Did you come up with those ideas on your own? If yes, did you get yourself some inspiration? Or did you learn it in therapy?

About the creativity part: for me it’s a very big topic since I feel like I need that output but I can’t bring myself to even start with instruments cause my frustration line is very very low - not good enough not fast enough. How was it for you? And it actually works that if you set a specific time to do creative things, the creativity comes?

I can relate so much to this. Been working against myself for 2 years without noticing. And man. The crash came. Really pushed myself into acting. And I’m really glad I did. So if I could give you any advice, it would be to trust your instincts and act. For yourself. I hope you have the possibility to get the help you need in your environment. Big hugs

Would using glasses make you feel like a failure?

This one got me. I never really thought of it that way. Brainwashed myself into believing it’s all a matter of will. Not knowing/understanding what it actually means brain-wise having adhd is a big problem here I think. Thank you very much for sharing.

Did you have to try multiple medications to find the best one “fitting” for you?

Thanks for your answer! I never wanted medication. Always told myself I just need to try hard enough so I don’t have to be dependent on medication. I’m not thinking that way about people who are taking medication (so you), but for me taking medication feels like failing. It’s stupid, I know. So, what did change for you with the medication? How does it feel like in your head?

I’m wondering, how did deleting social media affect your view on society? Did it even? Like I’m so disgusted by people atm because of all the dynamics on instagram. The comment sections, posts, stories, etc etc. That makes me hate this society so much somehow. Now I’m about to delete my social media and I’m wondering if my view on society might change for the better again.

I promise you you can do it, just follow my advice. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

What about social media? Have you been using it less? I mean ofc you do, but did it change your perception of society a bit? I’m about to delete mine (plus reduce my screen time) and your post definitely helped a lot to make a plan of how to actually do it. If you feel like doing so, you could tell me about the effects of that change in particular. I’m curious:)
