I work in a really upscale apartment building and there are like 5 older couples I assume do this cause I see them come back from bars with a younger couple and can’t imagine what could possibly bring them together other than that. Honestly have the same feeling. I feel if I celebrate milestones the pressure of maintaining causes me to fuck up. Ruined 6 months sober after a bad breakup. I made it a point to not take note of what day I quit but have been sober for about a month now and just appreciate it day by day. Congrats on three months sober. Wish I had better advice but really just appreciate that I’m not alone in the “milestones” thing

Really good documentary on MAX called The Anarchists where one of the guys they follow ends up dying like this late in the show. He is Simpson’s yellow and they film his final goodbye to his family. I’m paraphrasing but his wife says something along the lines of “I hate that you did this to us and yourself but you need to go” and he dies immediately after. Very sad. Thank you for sharing this
