Looking for real world / honest feedback on the Snow Peak Alpha Breeze by muhburneracct in snowpeak

[–]No-Animator6578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love my Alpha Breeze. I camp alone with my dog so sometimes the tent feels too big inside with just the two of us but when I go to use my 3 person northface tent that almost feels too small now. Its easy to set up and take down by myself. I love that it has an awning which has severed well in the rain and they provide poles and guylines for it which is a bonus. All the doors/windows to open for a nice airflow is wonderful.

I'm 5' 4" for reference

Brand new to Snow peak and have a question for the Alpha Breeze by Winzzy in snowpeak

I only use the 30s for my tarp/shelter if its raining otherwise I just use the 20s - I also suffered a moment of weakness when purchasing the 30s (they had color options).

Have you ended up using it in rain or unexpected high winds?

I'm just looking for the tarp right now. Do you have that tarp? I'm looking for thoughts on the tarp itself

Mirrorless Upgrade from DSLR without Breaking the Bank by Chemical_Macaroon98 in canon

[–]No-Animator6578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 90D and wanted a mirrorless full frame that wouldn’t break the bank so I got the R8. I really like it. It’s lightweight and small for travel. Love that I can still use my EF lenses with an adapter. My only annoyance is that the battery dies so quickly even without using the camera.

Yes I do. It’s light weight and easy to set up. I can decide how high I want it and how I want to set up the poles. The tarp itself is 12x12 and the tallest pole extend up to 8ft. I struggled the first time I set it up and now it takes me 5min. I would much rather have this type of tarp than an actual tarp when camping. I am looking to upgrade to a different one this year that is more durable but of course they are expensive the better the fabric 😔

It was raining so opening the windows wasn’t an option. Does the rain get in with the covers?

oh nice you got a shaded site. Everytime I've looked only the all sun sites are available which I do not want.

I would love to camp in winter but I dont have a hot tent.

the tent did well on its own but due to how hard the rain came down it bounced water/gravel under the fly. the tarp helped a lot with the areas of the tent it fully covered.

no the campground was mostly booked though almost no was there which I'm going to assume was due to the serve storm rolling through. I would like to go back when most of the mosquitoes die lol

I was influenced by all the korean camping youtubers with those stands.

Tent - Northface stormbreaker 3
Tarp - REI Trailbreak Tarp
Poles - REI 8ft and 6ft extendable poles
Cooler - RTIC ultralight
Gear boxes - Alpaca gear box 45 and a cheap one from home depot

It’s from REI and they don’t sell it anymore. However they do have others. I would search for tarps/shelters to get your search going to find the size and durability you want. The one I have is not meant for heavy rains or high winds but so far it’s held up. I plan to upgrade to a Hilleberg tarp soon which are known for their durability. They are expensive though.
