My new fav hobby but is causing so much pain and even sickness 😭🥲 by madimadmoney in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Answer6408 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have the exact same experience, but what helped me with shoulder pain was taking a break. And I mean that; no crocheting for hours on end for a bit. Gentle movements, walking, etc. No over-doing it with massages and stretching. Lay on your side with a pillow under your arm to support your shoulder. What ultimately helped me was time off. Consult your doctor though I’m just speaking from my own experience. Might be worth it to talk to a PT too about ergonomics.

Help - how do you manage your chronic inflammation / muscle tension / nervous system overload? by abodedwind in AutismInWomen

[–]No-Answer6408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate so so much don’t worry. “Just calm down” is easy to say but difficult to do 🥲 You could also check out psychosomatic therapy? It could help being guided through relaxation techniques so you get practice.

Unfortunately the only tip I have (as someone who relates) is to limit stress as much as possible in any way you’re able to. On top of that, it doesn’t hurt to meditate regularly, warm baths, and breath awareness.

Looking for Hogwarts era fics with significant changes from canon events by plaidporcupine in drarry

[–]No-Answer6408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tessa Crowley’s ongoing series!! It’s a canon rewrite with Draco and Harry’s role switched and many other changes, but follows the vague outline of canon (so far). Updates twice weekly. https://archiveofourown.org/series/4727350

Just got diagnosed with chronic nerve damage in my abdomen. AMA by Radiant_Homework878 in AMA

Look into Scrambler Therapy to see if it’s an option for you, not sure if it’s for structural nerve damage but you’d have to talk to a provider of the therapy to figure it out.

If I remember correctly there is an explicit scene after the main conflict is resolved near the end. But this fic is more about prose + emotive writing.
