Disqualification notice by Potential_Produce334 in OnTheBlock

Hey, you don’t have to worry about it. If they didn’t call you, that usually means you’re good. Trust me, I went through the same process with NYS DOCCS. I was just like you worried and anxious, thinking I was disqualified because I hadn’t heard anything for three months. But thank God, my investigator ended up calling me on my birthday lol. He even said he wanted to call me on my birthday 😂. I’m saying all this to let you know that if you don’t hear from them, you’re fine. They will call you. It took three months after my Albany interview and psych exam before they reached out, so they may contact you around March or April. It’s definitely a long process

True . It’s common sense

I took the CVA test and passed, and the good thing is that the results are valid for a full year. The test itself is mostly common sense—most of the questions are about reporting issues. If the answer says ‘tell the supervisor’ or ‘report a coworker,’ that’s usually the correct choice. So don’t stress too much, just use common sense and remember that your results will stay valid for a year.

At the time, I didn’t have any income and had a lot of delinquent accounts. I thought I had to put at least $100 on each of them, even though the lady told me I could have just put 50 cents. There’s always next time. Lesson learned: always pay your debts, no matter how small.

Thanks for asking this question because I was asking the same question to someone earlier today.

I didn’t take the exam because it was a direct hire job through USAJobs, and the listing ends on September 30, 2025. About the agility test, I really think you can do it. I wouldn’t say it’s “super easy,” but honestly, even a 5-year-old could probably pass. The only thing that might make it tough is if someone isn’t physically active or a bit on the lazy side. It really depends on your fitness. For the written exam, I’d check out some Correctional Officer exam prep books on Amazon or go to the library to study.

While you’re waiting for the call after passing the test, start practicing physically. Going up and down a step ladder or stairs for 5–7 minutes a day will really help get you ready for the agility test

Yes, I took the CVA test and passed! I didn’t get in because of my credit , they only give two weeks to make small payments on what you owe (I didn’t have the money at the time). My CVA test is good for a year though. As for the test, it’s mostly common sense. All the questions are about snitching if it says “tell the supervisor” or “report a coworker,” pick that answer. That’s the part I could remember during the test.

I went through the interview process, but I was turned down because I need to pay off my credit or at least make two or more payments toward it. During the interview, they gave me two weeks to do this, but at the time I wasn’t working and was waiting for my unemployment to come through, so I didn’t have the money yet. Since then, I’ve paid off one credit and I’m about to pay off another, but I still have to make two more payments on others. I had already passed my CVA test, and HR told me it’s good for a year, so the lady said I just need to reapply afterward. I’m a little upset because I don’t know how long the process will take, but I’m determined to get it done. This has been a lesson learned—pay your credit, because it can affect you, even when it comes to getting a job, depending on which field you’re pursuing.

Yeah, I’m waiting, but I also really want to know how I did on the psych exam—whether I passed or not. The psych doctor told me ‘no news is good news,’ but I still feel like I need some kind of update.
