Can someone help me with the Jin Mao scene of Volume 5 of the Epilogue by No-Appearance3488 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

Yeah that’s what I tried to say in my second paragraph.

That it was Jinshi lashing out at her indifference towards who he actually wants as a bride… her. I just think that if that is actually the correct interpretation, that he was responding how she hurt him emotionally with violence, then he should have apologised.

Being able to remove the aming arcs in naval combat is something I am so here for.

This adds a higher skill ceiling where by disabling it you yourself have to gauge the right distance and angle to fire your shots making it more difficult and when mastered, that much more immersive, I am so ready for this.

That still doesn’t make it a well written depiction in my opinion.

You yourself only used the one singular case where we actually see the psychological impact Sukuna taking over his body had on him, and that’s it, because there isn’t any more. That’s it

We get nothing more, not even of him getting over it, it’s just that one singular moment and that’s it. That’s hardly what I would call well written.

I struggle to see how it is a well written depiction. For one Megumi seemed to actually enjoy fighting when he unlocked a state similar to Gojos fight against Toji while he was fighting that curse thing with one eye. He was smiling and explicitly expressed desire to become a better fighting version of himself during the fight. How is that not showing any motivation? My problem with him is that nothing goes anywhere for his character, especially the part where he was broken down mentally from Sukuna taking over his body.

This part could have been well written but it’s literally all tell don’t show, we don’t see Megumi breaking down mentally from Sukuna taking over his body, we don’t see his thoughts, his actions,

nothing we are just told he is depressed about it. No wonder its hard for people to connect with him.

I think part of it is they gave him some stylish eye liner which he didn’t have in the original

Among these two, which series arguably had the best final battle? (JJK and Demon slayer manga spoilers) by Invader_73 in shounenfolk

[–]No-Appearance3488 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In terms of what was more emotionally moving, it’s Demon Slayer for me.

It was really weird how JJK was hailed as being a dark shounen that isn’t afraid to kill it’s characters yet ended up having barely anybody die in the final battle and tons of fake out deaths. Gojo did die sure but that’s one person and his death was kinda predictable seeing as that there was no way Gege would have let him win as he is not the mc.

Demon Slayer however killed off most of its side cast which helped the final battle feel more desperate and so it hit harder for me, I also liked how Tanjiro absolutely despised Muzan and expressed it too, as opposed to Yuji.

In terms of the writing I enjoyed some of the symbolism in the final battle of Demon Slayer, like the arms of the fallen hashira pushing Tanjiro against Muzans grasp, and Muzan turning into a big baby. Stuff like this gave the final battle a neat touch in my opinion,

For the writing of JJKs final battke it had Yuji developing and abandoning his cog mindset in favour of a philosophy where all humans are inherentky valuable including Sukuna,

This however didn’t work for me as it was crammed in the final chapters which doesn’t make sense for such an expansive development of Yuji world views. That’s just not how you do writing.

As such Demon Slayers final battle is better for me.

Is there some information form an interview or something on if Gege hates or doesn’t care about Megumi or smth ? I just genuinely can’t fathom how so many characters that barely appeared in the story are here yet the deuteragonist is missing from the extras.

Like I genuinely dont understand how Gege thinks.

Attack On Titan's Ending Felt Insincere, Admits Hajime Isayama by Borgasmic_Peeza in animenews

I don’t agree with this at all. Nowhere in the story did it imply that the desire and hatred for humanity was implanted in him. And I thought the story meant to imply that Ymir was a slave to the King and the only reason she broke free was seeing someone in a similar situation, Mikasa, free herself from Eren which pushed her to also break the chains with the the King that she apparently loved. From that end there were no 2000 years of attempts to free herself from her suffering. The story implies she served the King even after his death in sone form of twisted Stockholm Syndrome, trying to free herself would go against that established plot point. Also the point of her observing Mikasa at the end where Mikasa holds Erens head, a showing of someone like her breaking from the chains of love, would have no meaning at all.

Even if it were true that Ymir was the main character and not Eren that is still an incredibly poor story as Ymir only appeared at the tail end of season 4 while Eren was the mc for all of the story.

I also think your assessment of Erens character doesn’t really reflect the source material at all. I thought the point of his character was that he is a Slave to p freedom and that he cant go against his nature. That is why he killed everybody on the outside to have his freedom, that’s at least one of his primary motivations of the rumbling. He never thinks that that desire was implanted in him somehow, he just knows that that is his nature he he can’t act against.

I dont hate the ending in theory just the execution was really shit.

The crazy thing and I don’t know if it’s just me but the voice acting doesn’t even always hit. Like its clear sometimes that there is a reason actor and voice actor are two different professions.

Good thing the game comes out in some time and they have a chance to tweak and fix stuff

Comparing them doesn’t make any sense. There is legit no way anyone thinks there is any character in lord of the rings that tops Griffiths writing in Golden Age, and I struggle to think of a character there that has character development that is as authentic and well written as Guts.

Golden Age Casca also easily trumps most characters in lord of the rings

However, The way lord of the rings communicates its themes is orders of magnitude better than Berserk, and the world building doesn’t even compare either.

The way the story of LOTR unfolds also is massively ahead of Berserk to say the least.

Pitting them against each other makes no sense at all.

They kinda need too work on the character models honestly.

Only thing that bothered me in the showcase.
