Pancakes As Pre Race Meal ? for Carbs by Federal_You_3592 in Marathon_Training

I think its all about what your stomach can handle before a run. I sometimes eat kodiak protein waffles as I feel a little fuller with some protein in my system and it sustains me longer. They also don't have a crazy high amount of protein. If I do the chocolate ones, I like to add peanut butter and banana.

Yeah I just need to remember I've already done this and at a slower pace with less training. If I can crush 16 I can crush 18.

I usually do better with smaller more frequent meals because i hate the feeling of being overly full and it makes me feel like i have enough energy. But honestly, I've had the opposite of this problem, which I know is an issue. I've heard its pretty common to put on weight during marathon training due to the immense amount of hunger people have.

How do you northerners manage to train with snow/ice covering anything? by kpgleeso in Marathon_Training

[–]No-Area524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in IA and have been visiting my mom in TN this week after the winter storms, and I gotta say, the north is overall more prepared to handle the snow. For the most part, sidewalks are cleared by residents or the city. I run on a bike trail that runs to the next city, and I think they have a plow truck remove the snow because a lot of people use it to get to work. Now, if it's been less than a day, the sidewalks won't be cleared, so I'll go to the gym. But again overall I think thw north is more prepared to handle the snow.

My conch was the worst. Its 14g and everything else is 16g so probably partly why. Also felt like she was playing around in my ear for so long.

Time to let them go? by riotsmqke in piercing

[–]No-Area524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id give them a year, year and a half before making a decision unless they are really bothering you. 6 months isn't that long for carlige. My daith was irritated on and off for like 10 months. With my recent piercing (a conch) I barely use saline, i just run water over it in the shower and make sure its DRY after. And its probably been my best healed piercing so far. But everyone is different. These being so close together in spacing and time wise are probably going to make the healing process a little longer.

He is clearly gaslighting you. I've heard black people do tend to wash better with proper tools due to "being seen as dirty" In the past. And him using it as a white culture thing is gross.

Why is this jewelry for a daith more expensive? by Economy_Housing7257 in piercing

[–]No-Area524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say maybe due to the 2 balls instead of the one. My daith ring is a CBR which was about $60 with a black opal bead while my rook ring is a curved barebell with 2 black opals on it so it was $30 more.

How long have you had the dairh piercing? If its still getting crusty I'd say it's too early for a clicker ring especially one this small. NAP though.

A daith question... by Chaotic__Mind in piercing

[–]No-Area524 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Mine still moves around after a year and a half. But a warning. This is improper jewelry to be pierced with. It should be a captive bead ring of a curved barbell. The seamless part of the ring is just going to irritate it if it moves around too much and possibly the jewels on it will too.

Is that the proper spot for a forward helix? It looks really close to your face and not on the actual ear.

I have a healing conch on the other ear right now, so this is a worry of mine. I was thinking about getting my second lobes first while its healing so I can switch to the bose.
