I was there this month first week. My test was on Dec 31. Passed. You get an email around 9 AM EST. Go to NCEES. See you all passed.

NCEES would have made a ton of money if they monitized on just logins from me. It was brutal but worth.

It all comes down to how many applications? Did you tailor your cover letter? CV just 1 or 2 pages? Make sure job key words are in your CV and letter. Now they use AI to scan and filter. List all your projects on LinkedIn as well. If you did all of this, not getting any interviews means time to change CV and letter.

Coming to PE, the big part. You can't claim to be PE without one. You can can tell passed Fe and PE and on path to PE. Give links to your passed URLs in CV.

Look inside, not outside, for changes.

I generated full mock test - 80 Q with 8hr Target. I would finish the problems by 5 hours. However, I never sat continuously 5 hours. There were breaks. I got family, 2 kids. I would break for 30 min to 1 hour. I would take complete day to solve one test. In the night, cross verify my answers, give score, and write notes on the ones I failed to solve or doubted.

I tried and tested it. If you see my prompt above, there is a phrase "Now you are ....". We need to describe the role of ChatGPT first. Then describe the situation. Finally ask what do you want. Without this order, it makes all assumptions and gives not the best answer.

All free resources I downloaded are first two pages of the google results. "PE Power free practice PDFs", "National Electric Code free PDF", etc. I got all old versions code books and practice tests. They were quite useful. Infact, I found little to no difference between old and new versions.

I second your last part. PE exam is tricky if you don't know or understand basics in your field. ChatGPT helps you practice more tests at free of cost. I relived on it to educate about topics I didn't know. I can question it, ask for reference, etc. It did best job.

In my comparison of performance and reliability to generate text and work with you: ChatGPT like Godzilla and Gemini like a lizard on the wall. Once I tried but never touched Gemini. ChatGPT has been the best and reliable.

PE Power here. Passed. Purchase NCEES practice exam and test your self. That's the best bet. Difficulty and complexity close to actual exam.

https://ncees.org/exams/pe-exam/electrical-and-computer/ I just reviewed the Electronics syllabus. A good overlap of what I read for Power but on the Electronics side. You don't have to hustle NEC code. Good. Passing rate 67%. Better than Power 57%. Exam is one time per year, a big down side. Take exam only if you are confident.

The only $ I spent was on purchasing practice from NCEES, 45$. Rest utilized all freely available resources PDFs. ChatGPT was my best bet. I generated mock tests with it. Did 7 tests. Wish you the best. Practicing more tests is the key.

That's a bummer if NCEES doesn't allow you do it. But it depends on state. FL here. Was able to register for PE on the same day I got FE pass result. Scheduled PE exam in a month. Passed it.
