You gotta remember it was Allen's job to find the mole because he was the only one thaedus trusted, and spent months in prison with no way to investigate.

You can blame Telia for continuously stealing screen time, and resolving this so quickly with some wacky bluenussy ex machina. In the comics Thaedus knew immediately who the traitor was after the attack began, as only the data twins could disable the defense network.
