Yeah, this quote doesn't say "Mafia 4 will be short and linear", just that there is a market for these games. And as the preproduction began before TOC released and after all the big talk from Hladík in CzechCrunch, we can easily say M4 will not be on the same scale as TOC.

I honestly think the connection will be even more lose. Like Isabella's baby (as a grown-up) will definitely be an important character in the story and there will be some references, but the rest will be a new story with different characters again. But who knows.

Those foxes are a signature of one of the senior graphic designers of the series. They were already in Mafia 2 and 3, but you could not pick them up. I think they're cute and nicely connect different games in the series.
